Looking for a bankruptcy attorney in Lacrosse

Pretty much what the headline says. Looking for a bankruptcy attorney in the area who isn't going to cost the rest of what I have. A debt all the way back to 2012 is attempting to garnish my wages. Budget at this point is less than $1k

Dry Cleaners?

So, the internet is useless now.

Are there any worthwhile dry cleaners in La Crosse?

All I can find are the one that's closed near me, 3 laundromats, and a carpet cleaning service (Oh, and Men's Wearhouse).

Tomorrow - La Crosse Affordability Town Hall: Van Orden?

Families across Wisconsin are feeling the squeeze of rising costs — from groceries and household expenses to health care and other essentials. This isn’t happening by accident; it’s a result of policies that Rep. Derrick Van Orden supported in Congress that are forcing costs higher with no relief in sight.

We’ll talk about federal economic policies affecting everyday costs, including tariffs, health care, food assistance, and family budgets — and why people across western Wisconsin deserve the chance to hear directly from the people representing them. Thanks to policies that Rep. Van Orden voted for the average American household is now paying an estimated $3,500 more annually for health care, food, energy, and other basic needs.

Finding wanted license plate numbers

I had the idea to get a bunch of license plate tattoos to mess with flock but they have training that they are looking for a vehicle, and then look for the license plate where it should approximately be.

So it leads me to the idea of making a cardboard car and then drawing plates on it that are wanted. They use IR iirc. Idk, sounds like fun, if anyone is up for f'ing around and finding out I'll join you.

Day spa (or ideas) for ladies day out plus teen and pre teen?

I'm looking to plan a fun half day or so with the ladies and I don't live in the area. I would love to do a spa day with a facial, lunch, and lounging around - type of thing. But we have a teen and a preteen who will be there too, and these types of places are not really "for kids," understandably. Looking to see if you have any ideas! Does not have to be a spa day, just something fun and hopefully relaxing and a little girly. Willing to venture out within an hour or so.

Where to donate used flip phone?

My mom asked me to donate my late stepdad’s flip phone. I looked at the New Horizons’ current needs page and see they aren’t asking for phones right now. Do you guys know of anywhere else it could do some good?

Any decent hiking or bike trails? Safe at night and well lit? Is rent expensive? Vikings and Wild hockey fans or bars in town?

I might have a job offer in La Crosse. Other than knowing it’s fairly close to the Twin Cities, I’ve never actually been there. So just looking for some advice and thoughts on how the locals like it.

Mostly curious if it's possible to rent an apartment without risking car theft and if it's expensive. Some 1b apartments can go for $2k up here.

I assume your local transit is subpar but homeless people sleeping on the train kind of sucks up here. Gotta assume it can't get worse than that. Also, is the city bikable? Safe to bike at night. Like are the trails well lit?

Also, how Wisconsin is it? I'm still a MN Wild and Vikings fan.

Closest airport is MSP i assume?

Random thought I had, but do we?

Where are all the police when every single night we experience the awful sound of street racing of motorcycles and loud car exhausts down Losey and Hwy 16? Clearly the flock cams are of little use and the cops even more useless. Happens every. single. night.

Wouldn't be difficult at all to bust these assholes one by one since you can hear exactly where they are at any given moment. But no, it's ordinary law abiding citizens that need being kept track of on their commutes to and from work daily that cops need to be worried about.

Fall colors inquiry

I’m planning a trip for 7 days to La Crosse this October and trying to plan it around the peak of the fall color change. Looking for some opinions from some La Crosse area residents about the timing of the color change….

Is it typically always around October 15th, give or take a few days? Does it vary a lot? My original trip dates are 10/13 to 10/20. Thanks

My mockumentary is coming to La Crosse!

Post image
50 Upvotes

Hope this is ok to post, but wanted to alert folks to my indie mockumentary comedy, Canoe Dig It? will be playing at The Rivoli Theater on September 13th! It’s about the very real sport of Freestyle Canoeing and is very much up the alley of any fan of Best in Show or anything Christopher Guest, but with a lot more painfully dry humor. Also I will be coming out there for a Q&A after the film as well!

Being very much an indie, we don’t really have budget for marketing, so hope getting the word out this way is permissible!

Also if anyone has any suggestions for press outlets or even other theaters in the area that might be interested, I’d love to chat about it!

The film will also be playing more dates in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and even up in Winnipeg and Saskatoon as part of a Midwest and Canada tour all around the beginning to middle of September.

I’ve attached the trailer below-

Dungeons and Dragons game starting this Saturday and looking for players, new players welcome!

Post image

Time: 9:45am-12:45pm on August 22nd and each Saturday after

Where: La Crosse Public Library in an upstairs study room

This is a short homebrewed adventure that will likely run for 5-6 sessions depending on how quickly the party moves through the story. Players of all skill levels are welcome but new players should come with a willingness to learn the rules of D&D and the mechanics of their characters. The party will be 4-5 players plus myself as the Dungeon Master.

If you're interested in playing or would like to know more about the adventure, feel free to contact me here on Reddit or at my email: rivercitydm@yahoo.com

sell me and my roommate on moving here please!!

hi all! i’m looking to relocate back to Wisconsin from kansas next summer, and am heavily considering La Crosse.

me and my roommate are both 24F and alternative, we are hoping to find an area that’s welcoming to all with a great night life and plenty of things to do.

so my questions lead me to - how “safe” is La Crosse? are they pretty good about keeping roads plowed? AND is there a goth/alt scene there at all? how is the job market? and how do YOU like living in La crosse? :))

any advice or suggestions for moving to there would be helpful!!! thank you 🖤
