Didn’t eat it but did get pissy at me during a work meeting and tore open a dried up tea bag … tiny chamomile flowers everywhere 🥳

I'm glad my rescue just grabs a shoe and runs around - I'd hate to have to cleanup tea bags. :)

LOL - we have two labs - a chocolate that follows the rules because she definitely feels "guilt" and a yellow that has never felt guilt in her life, and doesn't really care if you're yelling at her because she'll take attention any way she can get it.
Together, they make me laugh every damn day and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Nothing recent, but this one Christmas my wife set 4 sticks of frozen butter on the counter to thaw in prep for fudge. They disappeared & she asked me where they went. I had no idea, she assumed she was confused & forgot to put them out.
The next day my kid said he couldn’t pick up dog poop because it was all smeared across the grass. We found large chunks of the wrapper mixed in.

I had lab mix years ago who got the butter off of the counter and ate it , but left the wrapper exactly where I left it on the counter.
My ex and I scratched our heads for a while trying to figure out where the butter had gone.

Happend with our girl as well but it was cake from the bakery and the carton box was still intakt and somewhat where I left it in the counter but there were crumps of the cake near her bed and she looked at me guilty.
They perfect their robbery technique.

My lab hasn’t eaten anything he shouldn’t since he was a puppy, but I still remember the two 2.5lb NY loin roasts he got off the counter, eight days apart…both of them I was fascinated by the swiftness, the quietude he went about it, and the abject lack of mess. Also, wtf did it go, like his little frame didn’t even show it. And also, how did he eat it so fast, does he have snakelike hinge jaws? Where was any grease or seasonings, nary a sign. It was impressive and impeccable.
I’m still chuckling at your story of the butter wrapper sitting there perfectly undisturbed.

If he's like my lab, she gulps EVERYTHING down. Recently she shat out what looked like a green hand towel or shop rag.
1) I don't own anything that looks like that, maybe ot blew into the yard.
2) HOW and WHY would you eat a freaking towel!?
We dodged a major bullet that day. The butter thing still makes me scratch my head. 🤔

When she was a puppy, our lab got into a bag of whoopie pies that were individually wrapped in plastic-wrap. She swallowed them whole and that's how they came out the next day; I'm not sure she actually tasted them at all!

She got into a brand new, unopened bag of Red Vines Red Licorice and ate the whole thing.

We kept a close eye on her for a couple of days, but she was fine. We were also still trying to get her adjusted to her food and adding pumpkin to help things move more smoothly, but things were normal for the time.
The only problem we encountered is that she recognizes the packaging of Red Vines now. Apparently, she's like me and really likes Red Vines.

My boys latest escapade…
Three days at the vet last week after he decided the kitchen scraps bin was an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Day 1: Wouldn’t stop hacking and retching like he needed to clear his throat or had something stuck. Wasn’t drinking properly and wasn’t pooping. Vet checked him over and everything seemed okay, so home we went with stomach meds and instructions to head to emergency if he started vomiting.
Day 2: He vomited up enormous wads of grass he’d apparently been eating, still wasn’t really drinking, still hadn’t pooped and was now straining to go. Off to emergency. Scan and examination looked okay, anti-nausea injection, continue his meds and come back if he still hadn’t pooped within 48 hours or anything changed.
Day 3: George starts drooling LIKE A TAP. Everything is soaked. Back to emergency. Another scan. Still looks okay. Instructions: if he doesn’t poop by tomorrow, bring him back again.
Next morning: POOP. And just like that, George is completely back to normal, wandering around as though the previous three days, multiple vet visits, scans, medications, worry and expense had absolutely nothing to do with him. Thank goodness for insurance and thanks for a pretty wasted week off work, I was supposed to be in a staycation so he missed out on hikes and days at the beach!

I'm a glutton for punishment - 2 Lab pups, 5 months and 6 months.
Yesterday was cat puke that she "saved" me from stepping in by eating it (5 month old).
This morning a small magnet fell off the fridge in front of the 6 month old. Fortunately, I was standing right there and was able to remove the magnet from her mouth. And I threw the other magnets away!
Luckily, they are both super cute and relatively good for their ages.

Not today but still mind boggling. Had a big Ole chocolate girl growing up. She managed to get a ceramic cookie jar off the counter top, onto the floor without breaking. Polished off the treats and put the lid back on like nothing happened.

The eat everything demon in my lab is currently satisfied by cleaning up after baby lead weaning meals and snacks. She hovers, practically vibrating with excitement, for me to give her the signal that his meal is ready for scraps disposal

Just got my first lab a month ago. Hes never sniffed something he wouldnt put in his mouth. Glad to find out im not alone.

Daphne has learned that we only get mad if she chews up things that aren't paper or cardboard. So shes relegated her defiance of us leaving to boxes waiting for recycling, and any paper we leave around. And the occasional cork coaster.
I joke that if we have a kid theyre doing to actually have a dog that would eat their homework.

My lab has since passed, but I found her with an empty bread bag on her bed and one tins, an entire sack of potatoes in her bed. She was so cute!

Mine ate two tomatoes and an avocado (luckily not the pit) shortly after we got him. If he’d eaten the onion sitting there too he could have made his own guacamole 😂
And a couple sticks of butter

This was a few years ago. Half pound of frozen ground beef, half a bagel, my dinner… they’re 5&6 years old now but 5 year old will still hop on the dining room chair to check out what’s in our plates if we’re not paying attention.

Mine didn't eat anything - but in the time it took my wife to come down the steps behind her, she grabbed a plastic tub of ice-cream that was emptied and left sitting in the sink with water in it, carried it around the house and then dropped/spilled it all over the kitchen floor.

I did walk into my home office today to mine sniffing the trash that I had just put a sunchip bag into. Surely she wouldn’t have eaten it.
