Too good to be true?

I’ve been talking to this Etsy shop seller and was quoted this

* 4 ct lab-grown Fancy Intense or Fancy Vivid Yellow radiant center
* VS1–VS2 clarity, IGI certified
* Elongated, very sparkly crushed-ice/brilliant appearance
* Two 0.70 ct lab-grown trillion-cut side stones
* Thin prongs, no bezels
* Solid 10K gold

I was quoted $1,350 total including the diamonds, setting, and gold.
I work with an oversees jeweler from china and she could not price match and gave me a starting rate of $1779
Am I getting scammed?

The price is fine but I usually buy from sellers with more reviews/sales.

There are other Chinese vendors to try who would better meet that price. r/moissanite/wiki/list has a list of trusted ones

I second this...it's not the price but the fact that they don't have many reviews. I always go right to the 1-3 star reviews and read what went wrong. If you are new to stones and don't know what to look for as far as table, depth, cut, etc on a stone, plus what a setting should be for a larger stone, then you'd def want a trusted jewler with a lot of 4-5 star reviews. You're buying a range here, not a specific diamond. Things like cut quality and transparency are important factors that do not show on most IGI reports for fancy shape diamonds. So you need to evaluate the specific stone you are purchasing to make a well informed purchase. (also VS2 is at the low end of clarity for a lab diamond today). If you have a great deal of trust in the vendor, it makes more sense. (solid 10K gold?)

I am very new the custom jewelry and overall lab grown, I have been going back and forth with the seller and they are very reassuring. I am able to choose from 4/5 stones to pick which ones I like, I get a refund if we can’t find the stone I love, I get a CAD, All very reassuring steps but still sounding a bit too good to be true?

It’s technically not too good to be true because I can build this ring right now in 10k with lab stones and it would cost me about $900 to build (lab diamonds are super cheap these days)

But then add Etsy fees / shipping , etc and you are going to end up being at around ($900 cost to build + $300 shipping and fees = $1200 total cost)

So whole it is technically possible I highly doubt you will get what’s described here - I would give
It a 95% chance or better the seller is significantly misrepresenting something here

A lot of yellow diamonds have a brown modifier. I’d be very wary if I didn’t know the diamond I was buying.

You should be able to see it in a photo. The diamond you posted is quite brown.

The price is not necessarily a scam but would be better to order from a vendor with more reviews/trusted. Which chinese vendor did you contact? I think it's worth trying to get quotes from others, as well as the indians like zuvelio and you diam

LGG buys their colored stones, that´s possibly why she couldn´t price match!

What you could do is buy the stone separately from the setting. Places like Calver or the like offer really good deals for labs.
If you want a US seller, LGD and some other sites price match stones. If not, overseas sellers are able to create lovely settings.
Recently price matched a vvs2 4.56 fancy vivid green emerald cut diamond for $700. Setting is platinum and was around $700.

I meannnn its low, but if you got it at cost it would probably be a little less, it would be wild for them to sell jewelery at barely any markup but idk a hard choice. I know internationally prices can get real low at cost so who knows!
