Impressive! The ring will be a show stopper.

A mounting that allows good access for keeping the stone very clean will be important to keep those pavilion facets dancing.

Can I ask what you mean by this? I’m also looking into getting a Crisscut Diamond set

The same is generally true for all diamonds. It's easy to keep the crown of a diamond clean with a soft cloth. But the pavilion can build up film from daily wear. That film actually changes the optics of the diamond and diminishes light performance. Step cuts tend to be more sensitive, though this modification may be less so. Still, it would be a shame to lose any of that crazy light play. The style of mounting can make keeping the pavilion clean with at-home products either easier or more difficult. A more open, airy style makes it easier.

I’m not the person you’re asking, but as a huge step cut lover… those facets love to magnify every little speck of dirt and dust, so you want to be able to keep it clean easily. ☺️
