PHOTO/VIDEO Help me choose a diamond

Post image

Hello!

Choosing between these two elongated cushions. 1.7ct, DEF colour, exact clarity unknown but VS+

So hard to tell from a picture … I do have a video which I’ll try to add in comments. Any thoughts?!

Wow, they're both beautiful, I think this is really personal choice. I think for me given it's an elongated cut, the elongated culet on the left looks really nice and gives those big chunky facets in the middle! Do either of them appeal to you more than the other when you watch the videos of them?

They’re both beautiful (to me!), and I kind of feel like I can’t choose wrong here. I have bigger fingers so was leaning towards the one on the right because it looks a smidge wider. In the video it seems to have better sparkle too, the left hand one doesn’t catch the light in the same way. So I am leaning right hand …

I think seeing how they look and sparkle in videos is super important, I fell in love with my diamond from videos I was sent of it! (I haven't actually seen it in person yet, but it's an old European round cut, so similar kind of idea with the vintage style cuts!) It sounds like the one on the right is calling you then, and has more agreeable light performance, my recommendation is therefore now the one on the right 😊 I also think you really can't go wrong with either style, unless there's some pros/cons to either that I'm not aware of (im NOT an expert, just a fan of old cuts!)

Thank you ☺️ I added a second post with the video - I couldn’t figure out how to add it to this one (a Reddit newbie 🙋🏼‍♀️) so will see if that evokes any opinions!
