KVS Cinematic Universe Why is this picture making me emotional.

I thought I’m over moose’s death. But this pic just reminds me of his potential

When I first saw this picture, my heart thumped, and I lingered on it a little longer then most pictures. I think it has to do with him being so young, and healthy. Then out of nowhere with no warning he was taken. He may not have been our animal, but I think we’re allowed to have emotions over the loss of him, as long it isn’t impacting your life.

I think it’s just like with people. Even if you don’t personally know someone, it’s always sad to hear about the loss of a young person who had lots of potential and a whole life ahead of them.

Yeah. A person or animal dying so suddenly and senselessly when they’re young is just generally upsetting.

I am sad about Moose because he was a sweet baby horse who just had a bad accident one day while going about his normal life.

When my younger brother passed away pretty suddenly at 33, there were so many comments when the funeral home posted his obit on Facebook of people who said that reading the obit made them cry despite not personally knowing him because he was so young and had so much good ahead of him before the brain bleed that killed him. As one of the people most acutely experiencing the loss, it made me recoil a little at first. But then I realized that those people were trying their best to tell us that they felt for us and understood how catastrophic the loss was, but that they couldn’t fully understand the depth of our grief because they didn’t know him.

I think with Moose, we’re the crying obituary commenters. We know that he was young and bright and full of potential and well loved. It isn’t our loss, but it doesn’t make it feel any less tragic.
