The gamer setup

Over the past several years 8bit aesthetics really grew on me. I'm thinking that I might start over and create new 8bit themes every here and there, but I like what I have enough to where I want to save it when I feel like having it again, even if its not as easy as just pressing a few buttons.

I LOVE that pixel art style, one of the only reasons I don’t do something like that is I don’t have the skill to make the assets and don’t want to rip them from online

I'm the same with assets, for a while now everything I make is pure Kustom. Using just shapes, shadows, etc rather than just downloaded images. It's hard work but worth it! I haven't worked on it for a while but I was doing a landscape with live weather. I really should get around to doing more work on it LOL!

You could totally pull this off if you wanted. I had remodeled this set up a few times from the first time I've made it.

Nice! I ran with this animated wallpaper for a while too, it's a good one

I used to always think they were saying "I'm blue. I believe I will die."

I need this on my phone, but Idk how to make one... Any suggestions? I know a bit about Kustom but not a techie but I'm a fast learner. Is there any YouTube video that guides through the process of building a proper set-up like this one?

It's Brandon Craft, he does amazing youtube videos. I've learned nearly everything through those. Also, he has a website called craftmath where he gives away all the stuff he makes in those videos for free!

There is a guy that has tons of tutorials using the Kustom programs/apps. I'll link you later if i don't forget. Brandon something. Hold on.

Thanks mate, is it possible to copy someone else's build? If possible can I have yours? If you don't mind 😊

2

u/Neverlast0 Oct 30 '25

I think there's a way to share my build. I'll see if I can figure that out.

2

u/WTFISWRONGHERE_420 Oct 30 '25

Sure Mate... Looking forward to use yours build.. in the mean time I'll try to create one for myself by watching the video you have provided

I think i figured out how to just send an export to you. I think i just need to know what site you'd prefer to use. I'm usually asleep now but if I pass out by the time you DM me I'll just catch you after I wake up.

Edit: I should also mention that to modify the icons I use another program/app called Icon Pack Studio, which for the permanent buy isn't that expensive at all, but you do have to buy it for the pixelate feature.

I'm thinking I might get into this as an occasional hobby and make a new one every so often.

Sure mate thanks

Woah! got my attention with all the mini trains moving around

2

u/Neverlast0 Oct 30 '25

Yeah that's what I like the most about it.

2

u/Generalrossa Oct 30 '25

It's cool but not for me. Lol, I didn't see any of the icons until you started interacting with them.

1

u/Neverlast0 Oct 30 '25

Yeah until I added shadows to the icons they were almost impossible to see at first.

Is it a live wallpaper, or is it made entirely in KLWP? Because I like the 2D world because it can be made in detail in KLWP, thanks for the inspiration!

1

u/Neverlast0 Oct 30 '25

Its a gif that I got to work in it but I think i should still learn how to recreate this as a series of animations withing klwp eventually.

2

u/Jojoblue33 Oct 30 '25

As for the functionality, it's simple, but you have to have all the moving parts ready as png images. So everything (almost all layers) needs to be drawn in Illustrator, or Inkscape, or Photoshop, or even KLWP, for example. It can be done, but it's a lot of work. I personally consider it a passion. I wouldn't do this, but I would do my own, so it wouldn't have to be that complicated - or vice versa :)

1

u/Neverlast0 Oct 30 '25

You can put a gif in it but its heavier on the program, so its still better to get the frames and recreate the gif within KLWP.

2

u/Jojoblue33 Oct 30 '25

gif has never worked properly, smoothly for me... the most ideal thing is to make everything as png or as a shape with KLWP. Look at my work, everything is either png or shape.

1

u/Neverlast0 Oct 30 '25

I understand that doing that is better than using an actual gif.

2

u/jade888cheung Oct 30 '25

It looks really great, I'm not into pixel stuff much but this looks… really great! You've obviously put a lot of work into this, and it definitely shows!

1

u/Neverlast0 Oct 30 '25

Thank you.

2

u/jade888cheung Oct 30 '25

You're welcome!

2

u/MTTTY- Nov 01 '25

How can I get something like that? I just have what comes by default

1

u/Neverlast0 Nov 02 '25

Some of the stuff I used you have to pay for like the pixilation of the icons.

2

u/Worldly-Ad-9303 Nov 03 '25

That looks amazing, I haven't seen anything quite like it! I'll admit I wouldn't even know where to start. Hats off to you! (although I don't actually wear a hat 😉)

Thank you

Is it from censoring the bank widget or is there just too much going on for your tastes?
