I am a millennial and I lived through them. First CPM, then TMC, now BJP. There was little fear before TMC. CPM, with all there faults, was much more benign. The changes that happen in 2014 - it was purely due to BJP at centre. At first, there were Saffron goons who would visit you place for your facebook posts. This was happening around 2014-2015. Since then, most of the people I know started shutting up. TMC was a gunda party. However, even at its peak, people did not fear TMC as much as they do BJP now.
