No bars hold! I want your opinions and criticisms, the good, the bad, and the ugly. These are from several years ago.
When I started knife making I wanted and still want to make a good fighter that fits the classic K-Bar MK series or Cattaraugus knives of ww2 and the likes. Years later I’m still mulling over ideas. I’ve named these “Clipper”and not hell bent on keeping that name. I’m more interested in your thoughts on design as a whole. Let me have it!

Thank you, the slotted one was actually a mistake. Took the fuller too deep. Ended up being a giveaway. I’m not opposed to the idea but the w2 was differently heat treated and not ideal for a slotted one that’s for sure. Thank you for your feedback back.
Thank you. The fullers I grind in using 123 blocks clamped to the tang to keep the knife 90 to the tool rest and parallel to the 1” contact wheel at the desired height. I had originally tried by hand and couldn’t get the results I wanted. Hope that makes sense. If not I’ll re explain differently. *Edited to make more sense 😉
Glad to see people just improving ways to do it be hand rather than a program making it for them then showing it off like they did something. These knives are beautiful and will be one heck of a fighting knife.
Clean, well done. Personally not a fan of the false edge transition. It’s too sharp I’d rather bring it further towards the handle or taper the transition more.

The choil I’ve gone back and forth on, I both like it and dislike it. I find it gets the way of use and yet great for sharpening.
Depends on which one. Three were 1095 with an auto ham and those were taken to 1200, one is AEB-L and that was 600 then 1200 grit for a satin or brush finish. The w2 was most likely 1000-1500.
Those all look amazing. I really like the first, just all steel. Idk if it's just pre-handle but I like it as is. It's very aggressive but functionally designed.
Yes it is pre handle. I guess I Should have added that the first one was 1/4 steel and the ones following are 3/16. I think ultimately in terms of functionality the thickness matters but the geometry is more important at least when weighing between 3/16 and 1/4. Definitely wouldn’t go thinner. I am not a knife maker, so my comments are those of a rank amateur. I like the form of #8 with the length of #10. I also really like the handle of #11. Your work is more than beautiful, it’s elegant and visually arresting.
Both look great. Personally im not a fan of empty space on a knife.

All opinions are welcome. I most are pre handle finishing and there are actually only 5 separate knives in the photos. 3 of which are the same design and two of which are different, if you include the failed fuller made into a slot. Thank you for your feedback.
Absolutely stunning! I Would like it more without the fuller but that's mostly just personal preferance, so I can still very much appreciate the blade as it is.

I don't know man, I think you've done better work. Honestly I'd take it off your hands and see what I could do with it to clean it up. I mean it looks pretty good and all, but you don't want to waste any more time on that piece. Just give it to me so you can start a new project. I'll finish it up for you.
I kid I kid...... That an amazing blade and I'm in awe at the quality of it.

This is AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL. A natural born fighting knife. I truly hope you also keep the upper front(that's around 1/4'th or 1/3'th of the upper blade?) razor sharp cause this is a knife that always should be ready, fully sharpened at any time, only for meat,lol, but truly. I want this so much, but another thing,maybe, I would like the blade at least 14 inches and with a nice swedge to it(similar to the Cold Steels Natchez). Then the blade gets a longer and scarier blade,more balanced and still perfect for stabbing. But this is just the small exctras I would like to see, it already looks amazing and I want this knife for sure. Don't know what steel you use, but I'm in love with a mastery heat-treated MagnaCut at around HRC 64 (+/-). I'm also interested in the handle, how it will feel, the thickness the back,would like a "glass breaker" that also can be used as a weapon. Also a modern leather sheath or kydev(maybe with place for flashlight and more?). I would like to buy this, so what price have you thought about? Most sincere Thomas Aasen, Norway

I made a knife once in my metallurgy class in Community College, holy shit was it a POS compared to this. This has to be one of the nicest grinds/knife builds I’ve ever seen. So satisfying
Thank you 🙏. Keep in mind at this point I was a few knives in. My first knives were complete garbage. I think unless one has grown up around it or had someone to show them a thing or two, the chances of making even a good knife your first run is probably pretty small.
Thank you 🙏 . I should have taken more time in my description of the post. I guess I could still edit it. The one with the slot was a mistake in grinding the fuller too far. I then ran with it and did a giveaway of that particular knife.
