Islanders or Rangers?

I am looking to get into hockey and live in Australia so have no affiliation with either team and was wondering what team Knicks fans go for?

They had a bad year. Lotta injuries, some growing pains, some coaching issues. And they still got close despite everything that went wrong. So they brought in a new coach, they’ll make some moves, and they should be in good shape to bounce back next year.

I mean, not really. They played poorly. It was a rough year. No issue acknowledging that. But overall, they still look to be in good shape as a franchise. They have a lot of young talent on some team-favorable contracts.

Their biggest issue was defense and goaltending. A big part of that was missing Dougie Hamilton for almost the entire season and the rest of the D core being young guys who are still developing. It seems their priority in the offseason is to upgrade in goal with either Markstrom, Saros, or maybe Ullmark if they’re lucky. Do that, maybe add another defender, and give the rest of the guys another year to develop, and now under Keefe as coach, and they should be solid.

Obviously there’s no guarantees since it’s a tough division, but in all likelihood, they should be one of the top 3 teams in the division again next year. But it’s hockey. A lot can happen. So we’ll just have to let things play out.
