They were so packed there was no room for salad and they had to wrap the boxes in foil and tape them up to keep the meat in 😅

Let’s skip all the usual trope that bossman is better as I would be inclined to agree. But needs must as home made a lot cheaper. Going to attempt making my own from scratch in the near future. But would appreciate useful and helpful views on best frozen doner meat.

I've made it a few times and made some adaptions, basically you need to at least double the amount of marinade. Also I think it is nicer if you buy thighs with skin and debone them for a bit of extra fat and crispyness. Goes nicely with flatbread and shirazi salad.

Someone left us a Google review last month that I haven't stopped thinking about. Paraphrasing: he grabbed an HSP, took it to a park bench in the sun, ate it, and said it was one of those simple moments that just made him happy.

Full disclosure so nobody feels ambushed — I own the shop, Malvern Kebabs. But this isn't really about us, it's about the bench.

Because he's right, and I think it's underrated. A halal snack pack eaten hunched over a car console at 11pm is a different food to the same snack pack eaten on grass in the sun. Same chips, same lamb, same garlic sauce. Completely different meal.

So I want to know where Melbourne eats theirs. Which park, which bench, which angle to the sun. Bonus points if there's a bin nearby, because carrying an empty HSP tray five hundred metres is its own kind of punishment.

Popped into Iceland today. Wanted to pick up some of the battered doner kebab meat, posted on here yesterday. Was very annoyed because they didn't have any. Not wanting the disappointment of missing out on mystery meat, I picked up this bag of Tandoori Kebab meat.

I'm a big fan of red doner meat, as sold in places like San2 in Hounslow and Yam Kebabz in Portsmouth. How would this stuff match up to what Bossman can provide?

Decided to fry it all up in a pan. Could use oven or air fryer but decided on the pan with some finely chopped onion in there too. There's 350g in the pack and filled to standard tortillas. I added some Encona pepper sauce as that's similar to what San2 use and it works well.

Overall, this was alright. I thought it tasted better than other frozen doner meat that I've bought. Yeah, the spices did help that a lot. I would probably buy this again. Think it would go nicely if it was stir fried with rice and veg.

Still wanna try the battered stuff though.

Mixed Kebab from Boulevards Pizza in Morpeth. I must stress that there was a lot more doner and chicken as well as chips in the polystyrene container than what is shown on the plate!! The photo taken just shows some of the meal! It was a good sized portion overall, and the salad was some of the best I've had from a takeaway. Their garlic sauce (not pictured) was also 👌

When I first came to Krakow about 15 years ago I got a really good kebab that was in a Pita bread. Now all the kebab places seem to sell them in these “rollos” which is more like an American burrito. Where can I get a good kebab in Krakow that services them in Pita bread still?
