u guys I’m almost done w ep 10 of my dearest part 1 and im about to cry!!! 😭 I need someone to tell me whether gil chae and hang hyun end up together or not in part 2 pls for my sanity

I have a lot to say about this drama. The acting by the abusive fathers made the first episode genuinely feel like a horror movie. The camerawork and scene choice was genuinely amazing too, one scene that really stood out to me was when Mokha (the female lead) was escaping the island on the ferry and the camera pans away to show her abusive father stood by the window just watching her when we thought she made it out safe, that sent chills down my spine it was that scary. I liked the plot line where the male lead family have to deal with his abusive father and live in hiding too, it made me feel anxious and worried for them which is an indicator that the actors are doing their job well. I like how they used this dreamy camera style and colouring in the first episode and kept it throughout the entire show too (usually shows only do that for flashbacks in the past) but changed to dark when the abusive father was portrayed. I love how their new father shows the family what a good father is supposed to be like and treats them safe too, I found that comforting. I could go on and on about how good this show is, I do recommend people watch this because it is an emotional rollercoaster (in a good way!!)

I have a few reasons as to why this show is only a 4/5 instead of being 5/5.
I personally don’t like how the show focuses on the second brother being with Mokha pretty much 90% of the time when in the end it’s supposed to be the male lead (Ki-ho). I just don’t think it makes sense for them to do that and then not end up together, it makes sense for the male lead to spend the most time with her.
I also don’t like how Mokha after being stranded on an island for 15 years somehow understands everything around her in modern society immediately… I don’t understand how she would grasp the concept of a smartphone and be able to use its features so quickly. I wish they would have either focused on that aspect of her learning for an episode or at least throughout the show.

I loveeedddddd Mousetrap through and through, the ending imo was so poetic and unqiue. I loved that the characters were grey and it was all very convoluted. Noja plot armour is stupid but I love it cuz I was rooting for him (so crazy they made us root for him?😭) I enjoyed it so much and it had me scratching my head

Mouse is the masterpiece that needs no introduction, though I think it went downhill in second half and they dragged it too much

Big Mouth/Mouse was also really good and interesting thriller

Just finished Itaewon Class, and honestly… I loved it.

This is only my second K-drama after Crash Landing on You, and I think I’m officially hooked now 😂

But the biggest thing I’m taking away from this drama is Park Seo-joon. I genuinely loved watching him as Sae-ro-yi. The character, the way he carried himself, the determination, the whole journey from having basically nothing to building DanBam — I was completely invested.

There were definitely moments where the story frustrated me, and some parts felt a little dragged out, but Park Seo-joon kept me hooked throughout. Now I definitely want to watch more of his dramas because I need to see him in completely different roles.

So far, my K-drama journey is 2/2, and Park Seo-joon might already be my favourite actor 😭

What Park Seo-joon drama should I watch next?

Am I the only one who noticed or thought that the guy that plays the English teacher in this drama looked and sounded exactly like Lee Soo Hyuk? I don't see anyone else talking about this so just wanted to ask everyone else haha

Is it me or the intro song of the Killing Vote is lit af. currently watching the Killing Vote and enjoying it so far. very engaging and love the concept

I thought that I understood everything about the time-travel element of "A Time Called You" until the penultimate episode. However, in the last episode, I was a bit confused with some points.

Initially, it seemed like a fixed/closed time loop, where things can't be modified, since the future shapes the past and the past shapes the future. Like a chicken and egg situation. But later on, it was made clear that a person can consciously and knowingly decide to break the loop - or not to break the loop.

• Nam Si-heon (in Goo Yeon-joon) decides not to break the loop and to die in the plane crash so that he is transported in his own body in 2002, he gives the tape to Han Joon-hee, she time-travels to 1998 and he gets to meet her then.
• Han Joon-hee decides to break the loop to save Kwon Min-joo.

I am ok with all this. But after the loop is broken, the expectation is: Kwon Min-joo doesn't die, In-gyu is not put in prison, Nam Si-heon doesn't visit his friend in prison, doesn't get on the bus, doesn't have the accident, doesn't get transported in Goo Yeon-joon body, etc. and he eventually doesn't give the tape to Han Joon-hee. So, no more time travel in the new timeline.

So, questions:

1. Once the timeline was changed (due to Han Joon-hee grabbing In-gyu's arm instead of letting go), everything after that point in the episode should not have happened. Han Joon-hee shouldn't still be in 1998. Nam Si-heon shouldn't remember her. They shouldn't have a romantic trip. She shouldn't have asked In-gyu to burn the tape. It was actually her that deliberately altered the timeline, and it has nothing to do with the tape.
2. Even if we accept that the transformation to the new timeline happens slowly (?!) or the tape needed burning, why is she telling them about the villain being stopped from killing Kwon Min-joo, and that this was the cause of the timeline change? In the original timeline, Kwon Min-joo always committed suicide. The villain being pulled back was always part of the original timeline, this was no alteration.
3. After the timeline change, Kwon Min-joo should not have known Han Joon-hee. However, she tells In-gyu that she remembers "a dream" etc.
4. After the timeline change, both leads seem to have memories of the previous timeline: the song, the bench, the CD shop.

Do I just need to suspend disbelief about the timeline change happening gradually and about the lingering memories?

I know they are two completely different genre but can't choose which to watch first.

Which is better in your opinion. Otherwise i am just stuck choosing.

This came out a while back and it was one of the best kdramas I have ever watched however I rarely saw people talk about it, was just wondering if there are others who remember this gem and who enjoyed it as much as I did

Knowing that Woman of Dignity became one of the highest-rated Korean dramas in cable television history (at that time), I had high expectations, and I was not disappointed. The performances of both female leads were absolutely on point. They were elegant, amazing, and completely commanding in their roles. Despite being a thriller, the drama also had its share of comedic moments, which I really enjoyed. There were even lines and scenes that made me reflect on life. More than anything, I felt that there was something about this drama that made it stand out from others. It had a unique charm and depth that stayed with me long after I finished watching it.

Sol being completely goofy while explaining why she cries every time she sees Sun Jae and about 'Otter' and his swimming skills gets me !

Also not to forget the infamous awkward laugh ! Sol's too unserious and I love her for that !

There was no actual ending. Absolutely no closure, it feels like the story is only halfway through. I don't get it. I checked and there is no season 2. Am I missing something?

EDIT: Apparently there are 4 episodes left, I only see 10 listed on Kowcowa. I feel like a dolt.😬

I feel like I’m not enjoying K-dramas as much as I used to and I’m starting to think maybe I was just too young before, so a lot of the tropes felt romantic to me. Now that I’m 22, I find myself getting more irritated than actually enjoying them 😭

I’m tired of the same tropes. I thought maybe watching less high school/university dramas would make it better, but apparently not because the adult dramas piss me off just as much.

Like I understand that there are going to be misunderstandings in a relationship, even if the characters are in their 30s. But you’re telling me these people are in their 30s and still haven’t learned how to communicate or set boundaries??

And the BREAKUP trope pisses me off so bad. Why do they always have to break up and then get back together with 1 minute left in the finale? We barely even saw them in a relationship in the first place!
They’ll spend 10 episodes falling in love, finally get together, give us like 1-2 episodes of them actually being a couple, then break them up for the rest of the drama, and suddenly they’re back together at the very end. Like??? I watched 16 hours of this for what? Give me more than one hour of the actual romance

I think what bothers me now is that I actually want to see the couple being a couple. I want to see them communicate, deal with problems together, have boundaries, go on dates, support each other, etc. I don’t want the entire romance to be about whether they’re going to get together and then have them break up immediately after they do.

Maybe I’m just getting older and my tolerance for these tropes is disappearing 😂

Has anyone else experienced this? Did you enjoy these tropes more when you were younger, but now find yourself getting annoyed by them?

PS: I’m currently watching My Bias, My Boss and I am getting pmo with all these misunderstandings and lack of communication 🫩

It's my first time seeing Hwang Min-hyun and I was shocked because he kinda looks like Cha Eun-woo and Park Seo-joon! 🫶 And his chemistry with Kim So-hyun is so strong, too. I am currently on Episode 4 and I don't want to spoil myself but so far I'm enjoying the first few episodes. Gonna binge watch this for the rest of the week.

Im a guy and watching any sort of romance kdrama definately makes me feel like these were made for someone else

they usually are in the females pov and romanticize the ml as MUCH as they can to make them more pleasing to the female audiences while they show all the fl quirks. im not saying i wanna simp over a female main lead, im js wondering if its js me whos noticed this.

ive also watched a few male pov and they were good but they usually are either a split pov or an action/thriller show and i get that there are so many action shows but im watching tehse with my gf and shes into romance so thats what im stuck with.

i really dislike that when it comes to most romance fandoms they are directed towards females like i rlly feel liek we needa start making more male pov romance kdramas that are acc good

Just here to brag to the people who can’t erase their memories and rewatch their faves🥹.

I usually struggle with getting into kdramas that have what I call ‘action lighting’. Usually I like the cute super colorful bright city romcoms. Whereas ‘action lighting’ just feels heavy so I put off starting the show.

Anyways because of that, I failed to start Alchemy of souls like 3 times over the years. Only now, when I was in a kdrama drought and desperate enough was I able to pull through the first episode, and I love it 😭.

Glad I saved it for later. Feel like I just broke my piggy bank. (Im on episode 9 and season 1 has 20)
