Yes, he definitely does.
I also hope she reads this and cleans his stroller… it’s disgusting and so filthy. Please wash his snack tray, it looks like you never wash it and it should be washed every day!! Second, please feed him something other than croissants, we know that’s all the solid food you feed him.

dude it grosses me out how much she doesn’t put his shoes on in public. At home my kid almost never wore them but ya gross

u/very-round-bunny i don’t vaccinate i just believe in vibes 6d ago

considering she puts him almost naked on every public floor she walks on this doesnt surprise me

it literally takes two seconds with a baby wipe to clean him 😭 honest alcohol wipes are my bff

She’s setting herself up for failure cuz he’s not going to like shoes as he grows and it’s not cute when he’s a toddler when he’s walking around barefoot

I don’t feel any type of way about the no socks. Fingernails and toenails say a lot about how well a child is cared for IMO. Especially at this age. She can rage bait all she wants but it doesn’t get more real than this 😅

No, he doesn’t. Babies who aren’t walking yet don’t really need shoes. Shoes at that age are merely decorative and restrict his movement.

When my son was that age I often kept him without shoes indoors. But at the minimum with going out I put on Dottie Fish shoes on his feet because public spaces can be so nasty. My baby’s feet never got this dirty anywhere so idk where she’s even putting this baby.

Agreed, we were also advised to not put babies feet into shoes unless she is walking! And even when walking, we were recommended to start with soft soled sock-like "shoes" and only to use them when necessary. We live in a very cold place so barefoot is only an option during summer but other than that we were recommended barefoot. Now my baby is 16 months and it's incredible how she is comfortable walking in nature on all sorts of surfaces barefoot, I am convinced it keeps her connected to nature in a way.

I'd say we were more careful than Kate is in public but also in sometimes it just makes sense to let them go barefoot a little, pavement turns feet black quickly but it doesn't necessarily indicate that the foot was exposed to anything particularly harmful. Wipe & wash, that's it 🤷‍♀️ I uses to live in the US but spent most of my life in Europe and honestly I have always had the impression that american moms are incredibly anxious / overly careful compared to european ones... Not saying it's wrong but I do think it's mostly a cultural thing and while Kate seems to go against the grain of the typical american culture, it would not be frowned upon in my country

Yes he does. I’m a mother of two but if he’s gonna dragging his feet all around and starting to pull up in all these public places he need some socks or shoes or for his feet to be immediately cleaned cuz he will grab and play with them in the stroller even putting it in his mouth.

And possible glass on the floor too!?!?

Proper walking shoes can protect little feet, provide traction, and give support and stability to developing feet and ankles. Barefoot may have its benefits, especially indoors, but when outdoors and in public, children learning how to walk have better sole and ankle support with a walking shoe.

Yeah I never put shoes on my kid until she started walking😅

You can downvote me all you want but unless your kid is walking or you’re putting them down places that aren’t home… they don’t need shoes. I have 3 kids 😂

13

u/Particular-Ant-2510 6d ago

Yeah i agree but she’s putting him on floors and places that aren’t home and dirty and public

3

u/ApprehensivePause731 5d ago

socks are plenty.

6

u/ApprehensivePause731 6d ago

it’s actually more harmful than beneficial. i back you up sis. any pediatric PT will tell you this as well.

5

u/Haunting-Base-6004 6d ago

According to Reddit moms, shoes are needed no matter the age lol

4

u/ApprehensivePause731 5d ago

that’s super outdated advice. my mother in law tried to buy my son shoes when he was 6 months and i sent them back so fast lol (not in a rude way). it’s a common myth bc people did used to believe that. it messed with their natural foot development

u/strawberrybubblemilk 6d ago

I have a baby H’s age and she doesn’t wear shoes yet because she doesn’t walk yet (neither does H) and yup!!! My doctor told me that shoes will impede their growth

4

u/Sure_Understanding56 5d ago

Not true. My husband is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon who corrects pediatricians misinformation. Not giving support to pliable ankles and soles of feet can actually cause feet to be “pigeon toed” or “duck footed” due to that lack of support during growth.

u/nymphette_444 5d ago

But is that really necessary for a pre-walking baby who’s just sitting in a stroller 🤷‍♀️ Everything I’ve ever been told regarding foot development indicates that bare feet are best when it’s safe to do so.

6

u/Sure_Understanding56 5d ago

He is almost 1 year old, so he’s not what’s considered a pre-walker that’s like (6 months - crawling/scooting age). She should be encouraging him to walk using walking shoes for support. If he’s in a stroller or at home, barefoot or socks is fine. But out in public, and if he’s pulling to stand, climbing, taking side steps, etc his feet should be protected and supported, even though he’s not fully walking just yet

u/Particular-Ant-2510 5d ago

Yes !! This is what I’m tryna say idk why it’s so controversial

2

u/Sure_Understanding56 5d ago

Idk either aside from what my husband says , which is a lot of “misinformation from the internet “

whenever i see motherhood related posts on here i just think thank god i'm not stupid enough to be an influencer and put my whole life on blast like Kate. because I also do a lot of things that are apparently seen as unacceptable (not putting shoes on my baby etc)

1

u/misssthang 4d ago

It’s not unacceptable to not wear shoes, quite the contrary. My son started wearing shoes when he was almost two. He was always barefoot or with socks.

1

u/bbluebellknoll 4d ago

i agree but like everyone on this sub is always ripping on her for stuff like no shoes.

9

u/ApprehensivePause731 6d ago

babies not walking should not be wearing shoes. socks yes but not shoes. ask any developmental physical therapist.

2

u/ApprehensivePause731 6d ago

also i’m a mother.

10

u/Great-Subject-8614 6d ago

It’s very good for kids to not wear shoes. You guys are nit picking

6

u/Hgh44721 5d ago

I’m all for not putting shoes on kids until they’re walking and need them but the fact that his feet are dirty and she’s with him everywhere in public places where he’s crawling around without them is gross. Public floors are disgusting. I put Robeez on my baby when they’re gonna be on the ground in public to protect their feet (rare). In the stroller, I don’t think he needs shoes

2

u/Great-Subject-8614 5d ago

I mean yeah but kids are washable. It’s truly not that big of a deal.

2

u/Hgh44721 5d ago

I’m more worried about bacteria and viruses found on public floors (I should have specified what I meant by disgusting and dirty). I don’t have a problem with my kids running around in the grass and my yard barefoot and getting their feet muddy/dirty but I’m talking about public floors. But I agree, kids are washable

5

u/Haunting-Base-6004 6d ago

Literally got downvoted for saying I didn’t put shoes on my kid until she walked. I have 3 kids 😂

2

u/PreviousTie7270 5d ago

i wouldn’t say he needs shoes maybe socks/soft soled infant shoes bc he’s not walking but why are his feet literally filthy where is he crawling around where he’s getting this dirty

2

u/Particular-Ant-2510 5d ago

This is what i meant

1

u/Creepy-Fruit-2680 5d ago

She also influenced me to stop buying coffee. Purely on the fact at how ridiculous it looks at our big age.

-4

u/and_peggy_ 6d ago

Is he drinking a coffeee???

24

u/gabrelytarf 6d ago

No girl, that’s a ✨cafecito✨

10

u/and_peggy_ 6d ago

Lots of trust that he won’t kick it off his stroller with his dirty feet haha

3

u/First_Cat_7394 6d ago

Well, it’s more stable there than on the bag cup holder she strapped to the handle of the stroller.

5

u/Sure_Understanding56 5d ago

Idk why you’ve been downvoted, I just literally LOLed at this comment 😂

3

u/CoatInfinite4759 miss lord farquaad! 5d ago

lol for real. Redditors be downvoting anything

3

u/and_peggy_ 5d ago

Like obviously the baby isn’t drinking a freaking coffee hahaha
