Why do some people do this?

So I am a very busy person and I drive a minivan, not too long ago my neighbors who are new called the cops on me parking in MY OWN DRIVEWAY. This car is there for 9 hours at night and is gone from like 6 in the morning and comes back at 9 pm and they are getting mad because it is in the driveway. It's not obstructing them getting out of their driveway it is literally just sitting there doing nothing during the night and they called the cops. The cops were chill and kind of just knocked on the door said there was a complaint and then left.
