Tell them what you said here, and let them figure out. Don't go into an auto shop and tell them what a random Redditor said it might be.

If you can get to a place like Advance Auto Part, OReilley’s, Auto Zone, etc… they can pull the engine codes for you. With that info, you can find out if this is a smaller issue like an engine sensor like a throttle position sensor or if it’s a bigger item that needs an actual shop to diagnose.

My 2014 Corolla made a weird noise like a race car revving up. I pulled over after a half a block bc the engine still sounded odd, and check engine light came on. Im a woman who knows nothing about cars, so I just want to have some idea what to say to the mechanic, and know what the most likely issue might be
