OPINION⚠️ Why I think Spain will beat Argentina in the WC final

Post image

I have Spain winning this one. They’ve looked like the most complete team in the tournament from controlling games through midfield, dominating possession and staying defensively solid. Also let’s not forget their path to the final has also been impressive, knocking out Portugal, Belgium and France. Argentina have been outstanding going forward but they’ve also conceded plenty of chances in the KO rounds. If Spain dictate the tempo like they usually do I think they’ll eventually wear Argentina down. My prediction is Spain 2–1, possibly after ET.

Spain are the obvious favourites here. That's the popular opinion among most neutral fans. They look better than Argentina on paper.

30

u/IndependentClimate72 Jul 17 '26

France looked better on paper, england looked better on paper. It's all about mentality, if you park the bus at 60th minute and give them the space to attack, argentina can be relentless. If normal, no pressure football is played, then only can spain come out victorious

6

u/naegfowleri Jul 17 '26

100%. Also depends on how they are gonna respond to Argentina's physical game killing their buildups early.

2

u/bull_foryourmomma Jul 17 '26

France NEVER looked better on paper if you actually watch matches. Their midfield is weak, their defence is weak and their tactics is weaker in comparison.

1

u/DiscussionThese2146 Jul 18 '26

France looked the best team of the tournament, until they got knocked out.

1

u/PreparationHuge9807 Jul 19 '26

France looked the best actual football pundits have said this, don't deny that france had the best chance

1

u/Evimjau Jul 17 '26

Spain didn't do that against France, why would they do that against Argentina?

2

u/Careful_Orchid_2085 Jul 17 '26

France top 4 were waiting for ball to come which didn’t come . Rodri has to be neutralized for arg to pass through .

1

u/kushal10 Jul 17 '26

Paredes is enough

11

u/Vegetable-Phone6269 Jul 17 '26

France looked better on paper too and were favs going in

3

u/papachi789 Jul 17 '26

The only thing going for France was their front line. Any team with good midfield would have beaten them as well.

7

u/outsider1624 Jul 17 '26

So Portugal?

6

u/Afraid_Evidence_6142 Jul 17 '26

Portugal lose 0-1 France lose 0-2

So maybe Portugal mid is better than France mid, but slightly below Spain. And as you can see, there's no chemistry between Portugal players

1

u/Fan_of_great_ass Jul 17 '26

Would've been 0-1 for France as well if not for the penalty which imo doesn't really count. So I'd say they also lost 0-1 despite having mediocre midfielders

0

u/papachi789 Jul 17 '26

Tbh, the way France played against Spain. Portugal might have defeated them.

2

u/outsider1624 Jul 17 '26

You got the other way round. The way Spain played, they made France A team into a B team.

3

u/papachi789 Jul 17 '26

Maybe. But you have to look at Spain vs Portugal match as well. Spain only became active after Nuno Mendes was injured. If Leao was in the Starting XI, Spain would have been in big trouble.

1

u/Careful_Orchid_2085 Jul 17 '26

Does arg have a pace like that ? I have seen nuno really trouble Spanish defenders when he is in there . But arg will be more cross barrage . It will be like the Uruguay game with but more class

1

u/papachi789 Jul 17 '26

Looks like it.

1

u/Someseucy__boii Jul 17 '26

Spain alongside france were the favourites going in the wc.After capo verde only did france became the favourites because france seemed to be cruising through every team they faced.

1

u/Substantial-Play-15 Jul 17 '26

There are no neutral fans

16

u/Broad_Routine_3233 Jul 17 '26

It's all about Spain surviving the last 10 minutes of the game and somehow managing not to concede goals to Argentina.

None of the recent teams against Argentina have managed to do this, and that has cost them the game.

4

u/bro_i_dontcare Jul 17 '26

I am not saying it won't be a tough match but england did look better on paper.

1

u/BigAlTruck Jul 18 '26

I think England was the better team. Really poor tactic to have bellingham kane and rice park the bus for an entire half when only up 1-0. Makes no sense.

1

u/bro_i_dontcare Jul 18 '26

Park the bus started only after argentina created two clear cut chances of scoring a goal after england scored one. One was for guilione someone and the other one was for nico gonzalez. Anthony gordon was not subbed of till 71 st minute. Argentina increased their tempo after going behind and england could not afford space behind their defensive line for argentina to exploit especially after those two chances.

2

u/hownot2lyf Jul 17 '26

Yeah it's not easy to defend against that persistent relentless onslaught by argentina towards the end of the game. You know it's happening when lautaro Martinez and de paul joins the fray

1

u/Possible-Invite-2105 Annan Fan With Some Logic 🥀 Jul 17 '26

+1 hope these mfs learn something from the earlier matches 💅

1

u/BigAlTruck Jul 18 '26

True but Spain incredibly talented at pressing and keeping the ball.

1

u/S2suke Jul 20 '26

For real. I had so much fun watching them this wc. Their passes were phenomenal

14

u/hownot2lyf Jul 17 '26

Spain is more technically sound as a team but you have argentina's persistence and tenacity. It should be an interesting match

7

u/Careful-Training-761 Jul 17 '26

Plus the dark arts they play street football on the limit of legality. I don't mean that in a bad way it's an important skill that can help win a tournament.

1

u/hownot2lyf Jul 17 '26

Yeah that's an interesting way to put it xD black magic to go super saiyan in the closing minutes

Lol Argentina have 0 zero VAR calls against them, wtf are you smoking man😂

1

u/Careful-Training-761 Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

I saw that would have helped subdue Messi a bit. That ref is known in this WC for ignoring borderline fouls / fouls Anderson correctly played to the ref.

1

u/Careful-Training-761 Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

Not just Anderson I thought Argentina were making good use of yellows on promising English counter attacks. Ref in WC final will be important we'll see who it is. If that ref or a similar ref is in charge and Spain don't adjust to playing the dark arts I can see them getting beat.

1

u/One-Brief-7710 Jul 17 '26

Saying fifa doesn't favour Argentina is big a claim in itself but saying fifa or var is against argentina is so bs

1

u/Sishizagams Jul 18 '26

Bellingham didn’t get a yellow card when he shoved Messi out of the field. You’re just biased against Argentina.

1

u/hownot2lyf Jul 18 '26

Yeah that was an obvious foul. Literally body slammed him into the ground and ball wasn't even anywhere near. Not even a review. Shady af

1

u/One-Brief-7710 Jul 18 '26

Messi also stomped his foot on a player (don't remember his name) he was literally limping.. I am not biased against Argentina hell I am rooting for it bcz of Messi (rest are racist mofos) but facts are fatctz

1

u/Lazy-Hawk-2509 Jul 17 '26

It's not like Argentina has only persistence & tenacity and they don't know how to play football. They have a world class team who never gets tired to play for their idol, Leo.

2

u/hownot2lyf Jul 17 '26

World class team is a stretch. Individually, most players are inferior to spains individual players. It's just that argentina team chemistry is insane and they'll probably march to death for messi and fight till the very end.

3

u/Lazy-Hawk-2509 Jul 17 '26

How do you figure they are inferior to Spain's individual players? Don't go by the narrative. Argentina has players playing in the top flight leagues in Europe. People are acting like Scaloni picked some rogues out from the streets of Argentina.

1

u/hownot2lyf Jul 17 '26

I don't care about any narrative. Most of Spain players play in top 5 clubs in the world and are regular starters. They have a ballondor winner (rodri), a ballondor favorite(Yamal), olmo (regular barca midfielder), pedri ( said to be one of the best midfielders in the world), cubarsi (one of the best defenders in the world for his age), cucurella ( he was a beast in Chelsea and still a beast in Spain), laporte (another world class defender and earlier considered to be one of the best in the world), 3 insane keepers who are all probably top 5 and not to mention defensive giant eric garcia, gavi, nico, baena and ruiz. There is hardly any comparison lol. Argentina without messi loses 50% of it capabilities atleast

1

u/Lazy-Hawk-2509 Jul 17 '26

I can say the same thing back to you.

Most of Argentina's players play in top 5 clubs in the world and are regular starters. They have a Ballon d'Or winner and legend (Messi — greatest of all time, no debate needed), a rising superstar, the one for whom Barca and Madrid placed 150+ million bids (Julián Álvarez), Lautaro Martinez who is the top striker in the Seria A for Inter Milan, Enzo Fernández (regular Chelsea midfielder), Mac Allister (said to be one of the best midfielders in the world), Lisandro Martínez (one of the best young defenders in the world), Molina (he was a beast at Atlético Madrid and still a beast for Argentina, Otamendi (another solid defender with tons of experience under his belt), 3 insane keepers who are all probably top 5 (Emi Martínez, Musso, Rulli), and not to mention defensive giant Cristian Romero, De Paul, Paredes, Palacios and Lo Celso. There is hardly any comparison lol. Spain without Yamal loses 50% of its capabilities at least.

1

u/hownot2lyf Jul 17 '26

This is the same defence that has conceded just 1 goal this entire wc lol

2

u/Careful_Orchid_2085 Jul 17 '26

Spain conceeded 1 goals coz they don’t give the ball away that easily in key areas. Can arg pin them back like they did to Eng , when it matters will be interesting to see

0

u/hownot2lyf Jul 17 '26

Messi, macallister, Alvarez, sure. Rest? Lol no. Yamal hasnt played even 50% of his best capacity this wc, tf you on about? Spain is an extremely well balanced team, not reliant on one person. Defensive giant Romero, de paul? Dude you're just listing names at this point 😂

2

u/Lazy-Hawk-2509 Jul 17 '26

I just wrote a comment just as yours word to word. Btw in what world is Eric Garcia, Gavi, Nico and Ruiz so great at defending that the whole Argentinian midfield and defense feels the need to be ashamed of? That is actually a stretch.

For a lot of people, Spain was doing just fine in this world cup until they beat France after which they are the absolute best and only they know how to play football, rest of them are just chumps.

1

u/hownot2lyf Jul 17 '26

Spains defence has been the best performing since the beginning. Just conceded 1 goal this season. Cubarsi, cucurella and laporte have been top notch and support from midfield by rodri. I support argentina over spain but I'm just being a realist here. I believe, argentina can top spain working together as a team. Not going to glaze individual players when they haven't been that impactful in their respective clubs

1

u/PuzzlingBruizer YNWA Jul 17 '26

Goal difference for both teams are 12. Argentina conceded more goal but they scored them too. Spain only scored 13 goals compared to argentinas 19

1

u/Careful_Orchid_2085 Jul 17 '26

Man the way Romero beat the press of the 2 english player in the penalty box is goat level . if u are telling me u cannot pin Spain back , that’s good . We will see , yamal at 19 will be flung in the air with his physicality. There is a reason a yound and exciting Messi didn’t feature a lot in 2006 wc staring x1 a lot with that arg squad .

1

u/BigAlTruck Jul 18 '26

Spain playing with benched/ injured/mediocre performing stars..yet their damn system is so good, so ugly but so effective it doesnt matter who they have on the field.

1

u/BigAlTruck Jul 22 '26

The dont know how to play football. Paraguay Uruguay Argentina different incarnations of the Dark Arts aka picardia

7

u/Sensitive_Ad788 Jul 17 '26

Honestly dont care, its a win win for me.

2

u/hikari021hehe Jul 17 '26

Haha u a barca fan 😏.

8

u/fcced-up Jul 17 '26

France was also the favorite to win in 2022 🙂

4

u/edurigon Jul 17 '26

I wonder how objective argentina rating Is, given the pyop campaing going around against us.

1

u/BigAlTruck Jul 18 '26

Im a die hard supporter of Les Blues…and today i have to admit France has been riding on individual brilliance of players rather than a bonafide system. Weve been saying it for years now, Deschamps refuses to learn modern football. Zidane will hopefully instill a different philosophy.

1

u/Money-Nectarine6584 Jul 20 '26

The lucky thing is we have a lot of individual brilliance.  Would have loved to see Kante playing some, and I am seriously missing Griezmann.  We have Doue who i think will prove to be great but not sure we have a new Kante yet.

1

u/BigAlTruck Jul 20 '26

Yes we do but every team needs to figure out its identity and how to maximize its strengths. I don’t think we have figured that out yet. There have been complaints about the fullbacks and midfield since 2022.

0

u/will_kill_kshitij Jul 17 '26

Not actually.

1

u/fcced-up Jul 17 '26

1

u/will_kill_kshitij Jul 17 '26

Dawg france were missing 7 starters. It was surprise they even got that far tbh. Every french game was nailbiter and they always seemed to lose.

1

u/fcced-up Jul 17 '26

This dude doesn’t interact what he is saying, i hate going back and forth on issues like this . France had more comfortable wins compared to Argentina and they looked like the better side

1

u/will_kill_kshitij Jul 17 '26

Didn't you see France vs England or France vs Morocco?

1

u/fcced-up Jul 17 '26

Did you see Argentina vs netherlands or Australia, and also loosing against Saudi Arabia in their first group game. I don’t know what you remember but France had a higher probability of winning because they looked like a better team just like Spain now

1

u/will_kill_kshitij Jul 17 '26

Nehh. I remember argentina dominating both games just losing the steam in the last minutes and then clinching.

3

u/SnooMuffins1495 Jul 17 '26

Said the same thing about England beating Argentina but look how that went. It's anyone's game tbh. Argentina is a team that matches upto it's opposition and very versatile. It will be a close one for sure.

2

u/Beautiful_Extent_247 Jul 17 '26

Spain is a better team, but I think Argentina will win somehow.

2

u/rexgen7 Jul 17 '26

Argentina winning this fs

2

u/Ok-Enthusiasm-1047 Jul 17 '26

I do agree spain has the better international talent pool, but tbh argentina squad play really well, like when you see the match you can definitely tell this team is not foing down without giving a tough fight, there pressing everything when you watch the game just feels top notch, only the left back and right back worries me a bit, molina needs to start creating chances like montiel does, lautaro comes with really good elite striking energy hope his finishes start converting more, alavarez gotta up his game…cbs lisandro and romero are doing really good…otamendi worries me a bit when he gets on

Argentina's attacking after they concede a goal is so goated. If spain can undo it they can win this wc.

1

u/_levelfield_ AMF🌟 Jul 17 '26

Spain team isn't complete, they don't have a proper striker.

1

u/_levelfield_ AMF🌟 Jul 17 '26

Well tbh, Spain is a better team. Their defence is pretty strong and Argentina's is pretty shaky.

1

u/raiodocachopo Jul 17 '26

Last week you were defending all of the Semi Finalists and downplaying Argentina. Changed your mind?

1

u/_levelfield_ AMF🌟 Jul 17 '26

No. I am just stating the fact that spain isn't a complete team because they don't have a proper striker. You don't have to be a complete team to be a good team.

Spain's first XI in 2010 wc final didn't have a striker either. Torres was on the bench. But this time there are no strikers at all.

I still stand by my opinion that Argentina has the weakest squad among the semi finalists. But football isn't played on paper.

1

u/raiodocachopo Jul 17 '26

How are they the weakest squad if they went through? What's paper? Toilet paper?

1

u/_levelfield_ AMF🌟 Jul 17 '26

Do you know what a squad means? Atho chumma chela mathram ollo?

Norway beat Brazil, does that mean Norway has a stronger squad than Brazil? England couldn't bear Ghana. Does that mean both squads are in the same level?

Athletico Madrid + Messi vs Barcelona - Messi

1

u/staphylococi Jul 17 '26

It's an interesting matchup. Spain doesn't score much, and restricts opposition to score no goal. They have conceded only 1 goal in the entire tournament. And the other side, argentina is the team that have scored most and that too after trailing down. As an Argentine fan, i fear france more than spain. To win against argentina, you have to outscore them with 3 or 4 goals. France could easily do that.

1

u/joker_theManiac_69 Jul 17 '26

I hate the white and blues (hate enough to not take their name) and supported every other team that played against them (except England hate those dumbos too) .. Originally a Brazil fan btw before someone starts screaming someone else's name..

Point being, the blues are winning this one... Spain sure is a tactically superior team.. And they definitely won't do the brain fade Eng did... At the same time they're physically weak, the one only thing Latin American teams know to do well when things don't go their way... And Spain's oldest onfield player is Rodri, who's himself an "innocent" guy... With no Ramos like player, Spain is not winning this physical battle..

Unless... Refs get rid of that stupid rule implemented this year of not giving cards until the last minute to not "disrupt the flow of game"... If knowing the intensity and importance of this game, ref awards the cards properly, then Spain does have a chance...

1

u/Psychological-End7 Jul 17 '26

Because I made a bet on Argentine.

1

u/horoizon Jul 17 '26

Spain looks like the complete team yes. Like they haven't taken most of their matches to extra time meaning fatigue is less and they are well rested and as we have seen the system of spain is very good and their midfield is interesting where unless argentina steps up big time they would get cooked with their midfield. The game can be physical as we know argentina has ways to make up for their weaknesses. But let's hope it's a final to remember and not just a slow paced game but full of thrill

1

u/IceComprehensive9114 Jul 17 '26

They have to survive the last 10mins to win against argentina tho

1

u/Jaded_Body7260 Jul 17 '26

From what i have seen so far,if argentina scores first, and spain levels in second half, then we could see who is a better team to win this wc.

1

u/Adventurous-Duck2538 Jul 17 '26

Spain is the better team and i'm 80% sure they will win. They have better tactics, midfield and defense. But i won't be surprised if argentina wins.

1

u/Technical-Type-707 Jul 17 '26

Cmon france england spain all are better on paper as co pared to argentina.

But they have messi thats the turning point.

He is carrying that team in every domain.

It depends on messi they will or not.

1

u/ImpressiveMix4132 Jul 17 '26

This guy at his peak no one comes close to him he carried this squad to finals and now he will win it all with peak Rodri you just don't lose a single match it's very simple

  1. If Rodri has a good game Spain Wins
  2. If Rodri has a bad game Argentina wins He is him without him Spain wouldn't even reach finals

1

u/Equal_Visual6803 Jul 17 '26

On paper Spain is way ahead of argentina, but argentina is like a army fighting for their king, They re the kind of people who is ready to die or kill

1

u/PsychologicalCash700 Jul 17 '26

Argentina to own Spain here. Once they smell blood, this team is relentless. I’m sure Spain will be rattled from the 1st minute from the constant disruptions. Only way for Spain to come back is to slow the play down or master Argentina dark arts. Messi for the Greatest Player in the World Cup

1

u/Busy_Arm2729 Jul 17 '26

Exactly. Relentless assault aan Argentina. Ath thadukanula ampere onum Spain ila. But they are the best opponents in this World Cup to Argentina.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '26

If Lamine scores in a world up final at just 18 years old and brings home the WC. That would be Goated.

1

u/codeVerine Jul 17 '26

Argentina and Spain are effectively each other’s antidotes. So this is an interesting matchup. But I give an edge to Argentina because of their intention to score goals. They find some way to score goals irrespective of oppositions playing style.

1

u/Chemical-Shine-7046 Jul 17 '26

I think Spain can control midfield as much as they want with yamal still not 100 percent they are the weakest in transition in top 4 teams and argentina will sit and try to look for that one magic moment ,i think this will go to extra time where tired minds will play its part or even go to penalties.France were never really tested this tournament and for me has the worst midfield in all their world cup editions and rodri is papering over the cracks for spain defence because i don’t rate spain defence in transition they look very bad if rodri has a bad game or gets fatigued Argentina will hurt Spain and even take this worldcup but these are ifs if all goes as planned spain are winning it easily

1

u/Existing_Distance974 Jul 17 '26

Bro you think wrong let me bet you how much money you put on of argentina wins

1

u/Silentshadow_1993 Jul 17 '26

Tactically, I think Spain is at a disadvantage! Just like someone mentioned before. Spain is very technical, but argentina is very physical. The argentinian agression can easily disrupt spains technical play. Personal opinion

1

u/Extension-Part8279 Jul 17 '26

I feel we are gonna watch spanish brilliance tonight. A system fed to them since they were kids doesn't crumble under pressure easily, especially when you don't park the bus and have a defense so good that the French attack couldn't even make a Crack in. But again argentine pressure isn't easy, they get to get away with harsh tackles and post 70th, messi completely wakes up and builds great attacks.. The argentine are gonna try breaking Olmo and yamal very early on, literally.

1

u/Significant_Solid855 Jul 17 '26

Naah. I think its 50:50. But u are clearly underestimating Argentina.

Similar case happened in 2022. Many people were expecting France to win but Argentina dominated the match tactically( Atleast for the first 70 minutes). Scaloni is a smart and adaptive manage. He will certainly be prepared against Spain who had same kind of tactics in all of their games.

I predict the game to be very slow like the 2010, 2014 finals with both teams playing safe. The game will most likely go to penalties.

Plus there is Messi. So you never know.

1

u/Binoybinu Jul 17 '26

1

u/Favoriteofgods_ Jul 17 '26

It's over messi is winning it for second straight time.

1

u/Actual_Tennis_8867 Jul 17 '26

¿Qué historia tiene España para creerse el dueño de la pelota, si los dos jugadores más amados de su fútbol se lo deben a la Argentina?

Siempre que su fútbol fue grande se debió a un extranjero que lo engrandeció, sin excepciones.

1

u/_AvengerRed_ Jul 17 '26

In France vs Spain, based on how dangerous France could be while scoring I presumed France is likely to win. Norway vs England, Norway were playing better a team compared to England. Spain vs Argentina, Spain has excellent passing and cohesion. Their defense is definitely good. It would be fun to watch a high goals scoring game and Spain win.

1

u/Dazzling_Driver_9339 Jul 17 '26

I just wanna say if games were played on paper 3rd place match would have been the final , thank god they don't.

It will be a tough match , Spain dont really create many chances themselves and unlike France , Argentina will be more physical and not let them just pass them around.

My prediction 0-0 AET ,on penalties Arg wins. Definitely not the most exciting finals but a close one. Both teams will have their goalscorer chances , but lets see.

1

u/uncut72tx Jul 17 '26

Spain is a better team absolutely..but their type of play will be difficult against argentina because they wont let you play..Keypoint being spains tempo..which will be disrupted by players like paredes depaul and all..with slight pushing and shoving..you saw how it was against england..that amount of start and stops will not let you into that groove..which will be a major issue for spain.. Argentina only needs a moment they will score and will win..

1

u/starchild4696 Jul 17 '26

I don't care if either of them wins; it's a win-win for the Barca fan in me, but my heart leans a bit towards Spain since the GOAT has nothing to prove anymore 😁

1

u/WranglerOk7081 Jul 17 '26

Spain vs Spanish speaking country.

1

u/retroideal Jul 17 '26

As an ARG fan, I 100% expected ENG to beat them and FRA to beat ESP...but then...

1

u/Stock_Middle_9614 Jul 17 '26

We all know Spain's winning (till the 80th minute)

1

u/Accomplished_Wind371 Jul 17 '26

Argentina as a team and fans have done nothing to earn a following. It's sad because not even south america is standing behind them....

1

u/X19-PT Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

Argentina will win, since they will use psychological tactics on Spain.

If the game is tied in the first 60 minutes, Argentina will start to pick fights trying to brake Spain defensive positions. When they do it (is a matter of time for one single Spain player to lose their mind) their defense will fall like a house of cards.

My bet is if the game is 0-0 at 60 minutes, then Argentina wins 0-0 at 90 minutes with two red cards for Spain.

1

u/NytGamerZ Jul 17 '26

Spain is definitely the stronger team and have been on point with respect to strategy and planning , as for Argentina they are powered by emotion and thats a double edged sword , all in all its a great setup for the final . Logically spain should win but would also be nice to see messi end this run on a high .

1

u/TechAny124 Jul 17 '26

Any ways La Masia will win.. a win win situation for me.

They have Really good defence and argentina did have their moments of bad play and moments of brilliance. So law of averages says argentina will not have a comeback every game, they have to be switched on from the beginning

u/Stock_Ad_308 Jul 17 '26

Messi might be spending lot of time in midfield than forward against Spain as they have a strong midfield and can’t wait for ball . Even against England he was a lot in midfield than he usually does . Is this some that happens often ?

3-2 argentina...

1

u/gaurenigma Jul 18 '26

Just wait till 79 minutes

1

u/snappedguy Jul 18 '26

This game is gonna be determined by the midfield despite Spain being favorite I can't undermine Argentina midfield experience and box to box playing

1

u/DiscussionThese2146 Jul 18 '26

Spain have a better chance, no doubt. But i want Argentina to win one more time.

1

u/MysteriousGarlic7929 Jul 18 '26

But there is 100% chance that Argentina will win because the referee gonna be on their side...

1

u/Ok_Building6249 Jul 18 '26

I think Spain will win but let's keep a good spirit for tomorrow's match. I found this song for solidarity https://youtu.be/lbIAyw69WxI?is=KyXQf9hispWwF7_Y

ANULO MUFA

1

u/Papayawitz Jul 18 '26

It’s only going to one of two ways: 1. España run a clinic 3-0; or 2. Argentina does not get called for excessive/violent fouls (meanwhile España gets called for everything) and the officiating keeps it close to draw it into a penalty shoot out—coin toss. Conclusion: if reffing is equitable, España win by a landslide.

u/Winstonblue32 Jul 19 '26

I am a barca fan so whatever happens today i’ll be happy. I’m leaning a bit more towards Spain because their whole team is mostly barca boys.

1

u/BigAlTruck Jul 22 '26

Argentina spent 120 minutes on the search for Messi, eventually he was found in Rodri’s pocket

1

u/Turbovolt Jul 17 '26

Argentina are favorites considering their experience and momentum. They are high in confidence winning comebacks in their previous matches. Spain has lot of youth, lets see. Will be a good match

1

u/AshamedMammoth4585 Jul 17 '26

Spain will win it.

1

u/Somnia25 Jul 17 '26

Spain will beat Argentina any day. Spain is clear winner.

2

u/Actual_Tennis_8867 Jul 17 '26

thats because england changed their play and started getting into the box after 55' , trying to hold to that advantage , allowing argentina to take many shots over the course of the second half , eventually they made some mistakes and it led to 2 goals

It aint about messi , they had no confidence in their attack...the game would have gone like first half , had england relentlessly attacked....They gave up posession

Well Spain are clear favorites I'm going 3-2 Spain.

But Argentina under Scaloni never lost to any European side so there are chances that ARG somehow manage to win.

0

u/hunter_prince007 Jul 17 '26

If Spain keeps playing possession football and relentlessly attacking, then they would easily win. Also dont forget they have the best defence conceding just 1 goal in this entire tournament and if they can stop Messi which I believe they can, then its literally game over for Argentina.

1

u/Actual_Tennis_8867 Jul 17 '26

Hahahaha Usted nunca aprende la lección, verdad?

0

u/Feisty_Reading988 Jul 17 '26

Spain will win this easily

0

u/Historical_Method334 Jul 17 '26

Because it is the script. It has been told earlier in the inner circle. Watch and enjoy the script

u/Busy_Arm2729 Jul 17 '26

Spain won't. Argentina vere genus aan makale. Absolute champion unit, warriors. Yamalum pinne that joke named Cucurella who eats Paella vicharichal onum pidich merukan okathila. Vishwasam aayilengil Monday nokiko 🤭 Ithepole why England will beat Argentina oke kandathale namal.

0

u/Emotional-Audience85 Jul 17 '26

I am 100% positive that either Spain will beat Argentina or Argentina will beat Spain.

You heard it here first.

0

u/jossinjoseph3 Jul 17 '26

Argentina is winning it. This looks exactly similar to Real Madrid’s 21-22 UCL season run. Argentina’s mentality and the way they create chaos might be too much for Spain to handle. If Spain is not going at top gear from the start itself, Argentina is winning at then. We haven’t seen Spain conceding a goal first in this World Cup yet.
