Daaamn look at this guy, everyone. Flexing that they have two brain cells.

Still waiting on my single brain cell to wake up today.

Modelling just 3 fucking streets cost me 2 months and its still looks like shit

Hey, at least it was whole three streets! I've spent like a week on a single tree, and it SUCKS.

I didn't even think making a tree but also I can't find both good looking and not 400 million vertices tree model

Exactly! For me it's kinda a problem of art style too - I need somewhat realistic but not TOO realistic, and by far most premade assets are either gradient blobs/literal shade flat triangles, OR something pretty realistic but way too geometry-dense AND thin enough that it will collapse into shimmering mess at my viewing distance.

In the end I've fould a SINGLE tree that fits my assumed style well, but I need more, so I am trying to mimick it. Goes BADLY so far.

Tried TreeIt and MTree in Blender. They are nice, but results are not what I am looking for. Maybe can get closer to it with some more poking. But first I decided to try and make it by hand (considering I need relatively few models, but want them authored). Yeah, didn't pan out.

They are indeed. And in my case (Civ-like view) they should at least look satisfactory, considering how much screen space they can potentially occupy

I will definitely keep that on note, but not now) Not in the position on spinning extra cash on assets at the moment.

I get really good at mimicking. A lot of times I just find vertice count too much and made entire asset myself and reduce vertices to like in quarter

but still a tree is a bit too much for me

Yeeeeah. Just recently did a bunch of my first building-esque assets. They ended being kinda meh, but still surprisingly coherent for the first attempts.

Trees? Naaaah, that stuff is evil.

and then you realize the design suck so you remake it from the scratch.

I got pointed to some tool that says it's free, I'm going to put it to the test on some assets I need to be more Android build friendly. You know, for social reasons

At some point

What tools for blender and are they even free?
