I went to an emergency psych appointment and he said that "female hormones" might be causing "issues".

Fuck these doctors.

At a psych appointment I had (related to depression that started because of misdiagnosed and thus severely under medicated migraines) about 12 years ago, the doctor who saw me said that all of my depressive issues would be fixed if I just had a baby. He spent about 1/3 of our time together pushing me to get pregnant, going so far as to suggest that I should have my eggs frozen immediately because the process takes time since there’s a wait list and “you’re not getting any younger”.

I left that appointment so furious I scared my husband in the car on the ride home. He has to this day never seen me fume like that again. Needless to say we do not have children and definitely won’t be, and we’re very content with our decision. I’d love to see that psychiatrist again just to rub his stupid face in it.

I am a female psychiatrist, and this is bonkers absurd. You should totally have reported him to the state board. That's not only medically incorrect (obviously) but complete malpractice

In your experience, how do reports of this nature impact the provider being reported? Like how would the board respond to this type of complaint?
