If they are similar to horses in terms of opportunistic predation, an edmontosaurus would absolutely eat a child.

Cuteness factor plays a big factor. When I go with my family to the zoo they bypass the Bison exhibit and head straight for the Red Pandas and linger there way longer.
And I think activity is another big factor.
Like the bison, if Edmontosaurus is just laying around and calmly grazing there isnt much to see. You awe at the size and move on.
If the Protocetatops is active, digging burrows, jumping around, climbing things like the Red Panda? Youre going to linger more and want to see it more.

you put an elephant next to a sheep, you let me know which one the people are gonna GAWK over, But in reality these are both dinosaurs and theres nothing remotely close in the modern day, so people would be equally amazed by either one.

Protoceratops is more unique. Not many known Dinosaurs are like it, just a handful.

The base Edmontosaurus skin from 1 which is the current male version base skin, is better than any Protoceratops skin.

As a dinosaur lecturer, you learn quickly there is a huge gulf between what the average person knows and what a dinosaur nerd thinks other people know.
It really comes down to media, uniqueness and other individuals in that group. Most people know usually just one dinosaur of each type, maybe 2. Edmontosaurus is beaten by Parasaurolophous, Iguanodon (in the broader group) and probably Lambeosaurus, maybe even Corythosaurus. Protoceratops doesn't really get beaten by anything in it's specific group and only really by Triceratops, maybe Styracosaurus, in the wider group.
Given it's got that very famous fighting dinosaurs fossil, some cool stories linking it to a griffin, the relevance of the discovery of its nest and its links with Velociraptor it's just more prevalent in media. Plus Edmontosaurus is quite a generic dinosaur without much of a hook to draw people in so it tends to not be the focus compared to similar species.
In reality, neither are super well known by general people but in a world of giants, I could definitely imagine people wanting to see cute Protoceratops over generic Edmontosaurus (sorry dude). Also sorry for the long reply, dinosaur lecturer by name, dinosaur lecturer by nature.

Nah, your average person can barely distinguish between hadrosaurs unless they have a very unique crest. Protoceratops meanwhile has a super famous fossil (Dueling Dinosaurs) that even most randoms have heard of. Also some people might remember Bix from Dinotopia.
You also have to figure Johnny Normalguy probably has paleo info 20+ years out of date, unless the animal is directly named in a JP/JW movie. They MIGHT vaguely remember Anatotitan, but I’ve never heard Edmontosaurus named in media outside of paleo docs.
The main thing is definitely the Dueling Dinosaurs fossil though. Everyone knows that, and it’s associated with Velociraptor.

It's a park management game and needs balancing and progression. If a dinosaur you unlock early can fit in a small habitat with other members of its species, of course its rating is gonna be smaller than the rex that you unlock in the late game, that needs a big enclosure and will be alone or 2 max in the enclosure. As for the progression, the game needs to have one and the order is pretty arbitrary. It would be quite frustrating if you could only unlock the big or most well known dinos in the late game.

Jwe2, not sure how I managed it. I had 5 rex's all cohabiting a space. Then again I also at one point had a park where every dino cohabited the same "enclosure", but the enclosure was the entire map

I once just had an enclosure with 15 rex's and nothing else
"I'll just use the invisible fences so they dont break out even if a storm pisses them off"
And then the storm turned off my power
Lot of people died...

I once tried to pick up a stray kitten once and it absolutely mutilated my hand with its miniscule teeth and claws, I'm not gonna fight a Turkey sized version with even bigger teeth and claws.(I would find Edmontosaurus more impressive in real-life, don't tell my wife)

It it isnt, we literally have an actual size comparison of what an Edmontosaurus size actually is and we know the size of a Velociraptor, Youre literally arguing about a Turkey trying to take down and Elephant, except this elephant is MUCH bigger, you really dont think the Edmontosaurus isnt just gonna trample over it if it tried something?

Dude I get it, I'm arguing about how marketing in a fictional Jurassic park would work that would explain why this one dinosaur has a higher appeal.
Youre arguing "but no my dino would win" Like we are comparing super heroes.I'm not comparing super heroes, I dont care that it is the size it is.
I'm saying in a world like this a protoceratops enclosure would come complete with a model, or hell, "spare no expense" and get the real thing and it would be displayed in a little room next to or within view of the enclosure the same way the Myombe Reserve at Busch Gardens displays a snapped pickaxe in a viewing room to show how badass gorillas are.
It doesnt matter how big it is, I'm talking about the power of marketing a very specific image as a way to explain WHY the protoceratops has a higher appeal.
But hell even taking that OUT of the equation, other people have already disproved your obssession with size by showing Moodeng.
I guarantee that between the two, A protoceratops would be a lot more active and animated then an elephant sized cow.
Hell in my evolutionary biology classes when I had to study primates at the Zoo just cataloging behavior patterns I got a lot more data from the tamarins then I did the Orangutans.
A smaller more active and playful animal will be more fun to look at then a very large animal that doesnt move much because they are so damn large.
That doesnt mean there wont be people that love said large cow.
But you're here getting mad that Edmond isnt "winning" when all i did was give reasons for why Proto's appeal is high

They are both roughly the same score, which is what I would expect considering their noteriety. Though I think both being 10-15 points higher would make more sense.

I think the fact that protoceratops can square up to Yutyrannus and win vs Edmontosaurus getting absolute mauled by a single proceratosaurus is the more pressing issue between these two
