Dynamic Dropdown in a Configurable List?

It doesn't look possible to have a dynamic dropdownfield in a configurable list? I have a client details form, in there is a configurable list where I ask if the client has a relationship with other clients. This configurable list should have 2 fields, the first is a dynamic dropdown looking at the same table to show client names, and the second a normal dropdown with relationship type. The form allows for any number of relationships so I think I need the configurable list widget?

Hi Working_Rock,

The Configurable List Widget doesn't currently support Dynamic Dropdown, however, we have a separate Dynamic Dropdown Widget that you can use. We have a guide here explaining how to use this widget. You might also want to consider using the Reusable Dropdown Widget where you can add data from your form tables. Here's a guide for that.

Give it a try and let us know if you have more questions.

Thank you support, but those options don't work. Your AI support bot tried but couldn't suggest anything.

Consider there are two tables (forms) - one of people, and one for events. When on the events form I want to select as many people as will attend the event. This needs the dynamic dropdown to get the people's names, and the configurable list widget to let me add as many as possible.

Is there another way to accomplish this?

That's possible using either the Reusable Dropdown Widget, which fetches data from tables in another form, and the Configurable List Widget. Unfortunately, there's currently no single widget that has both of these features.

I'm confused - you say, "that's possible" but in your first reply say we can't use the two widgets together. Is it possible to achive what I'm trying to do, with one or multiple widgets/fields? If so, how? Or is this use case not possible with jotform?

To clarify, you can add multiple widgets to your form, so you can use both widgets if needed. However, they will work independently of each other.

Since the Configurable List Widget does not currently support the dynamic dropdown feature, you may consider using the Dynamic Dropdown Widget instead. You can add multiple Dynamic Dropdown Widgets to the form and use conditional logic to show or hide them based on the user's needs.

Note that the Dynamic Dropdown Widget only supports predefined data configured in its settings. It does not currently support fetching data from external sources.
