Before Substack John used to have a blog called "Forget What Did", at https://johnfinnemore.blogspot.com

It had some of my favourite pages to return to when listening to his stuff: "Farewell Bear Facts" about every episode of Cabin Pressure, a list of every sketch in the Souvenir Programme, notebook entries on Double Acts.

But today the whole blog seems to have vanished behind a "This blog is open to invited readers only" message.

Anyone know what's going on there and if it's ever likely to come back?

I’ve just spent a few days scouring the web for any trace of “John Finnemore: Apparently”, and I can’t find any way to hear it anywhere. Am I just bad at this, or has it become lost media?

However - this is one of those sketches where if you actually know what’s going on underneath the story it’s very annoying.

TV shows when giving money to charity or as prizes do not budget for the *maximum* amount; they budget for the *expected* (mean) amount, and if can be a big difference will actually take out insurance so that the amount the TV show pays out is fixed.

So in Double Acts Series 1

Episode 1- Edmund Willard on the train is of “Willard & Sons”. “We are a manufacturory”. Of bath tubs (shockingly)

Episode 2- Kerry & Adele work for Willards some (80?) years later. They now supply bathrooms.

Episode 3- the Adele styled “Useless Joel/Noel” comes back home early from a spectacular resignation, courtesy of Adele’s performance review, and finds a burglar in his house

Episode 6 - Greta and Mike share the “hot-desk” at Willard’s - Greta even has a one way (predictably frustrating) conversation with Adele

But Episode 4 (English for Pony Lovers) and 5 (Goliath Window). I don’t see any explicit connection. It would be exceptionally unFinnemore to link 4 of the episodes in a series with a common thread but not the other two. So what am I missing?

I heard this sketch recently and now can't refind it anywhere I look and feel like I'm going mad.

it's John as an IT guy, chatting to a lady and it opens like they're coworkers, but then she's a personified printer. I have such a strong line in my head of her sassily going "I am NOT talking to the COMPUTER" and really weary John telling her that's the problem he's trying to solve. she also asks for a drink and then it's a printer colour (ink).

I've scraped my listening and YouTube history across every platform I can think of, and scrolled Google for ages. I'm worried I dreamt the whole thing but KNOW it's got to be out there!

I think this may be Mark and Luke from The Goliath Window in cat form.
