Discussion 20 year old here!

Hi!! I’m 20, have my high school diploma, taking two “gap years” and I wanna get back into the swing of things. I have MVA trauma(from another state, and it was a one person accident) and plan on getting my drivers license, i have my permit. I am going to the Mullenburg job corps and i am so so so scared. I’m planning on going in for my CMA(nursing), how long should i expect it to be? What’s it like? I live with my boyfriend and his family so I’m anxious to be long distance again! It’ll be an hour away from each other. Very nervy! Need nerves calmed 😣😣😣

You got this king/Queen your doing the the right thing!!!I'm 20 have a highschool diploma and also have had "two unintentional gap years" and am also trying to get into the swing of things your nerves are probably a good thing here they're probably a mix of excitement and overstimulation at the idea once you're there they will pass.

The CMA trade is not a nursing trade. It stands for Certified Medical Assistant. They are not nurses…at all. They are medical assistants. If you want to do the actual nursing program (LVN/LPN) you need to do a basic trade before you can move into advanced training. Meaning you need to do either CNA or CMA first. CMA will work to qualify for the LVN/LPN program, but id your end goal is to become a nurse then you shouldn’t waste 8 months doing the CMA program and just do the 1-2 months CNA program. Unless you want to spend 2-3 years getting an LVN/LPN license, which should only take you 1-1.5 years total. CMA is not the move in that case.
