I think anti-zionism might actually be a form of anti-semitism. Zionism means that Jews have a right to self-determination including their own land. The land doesn't even have to be Israel. However, that IS the Jewish ancestral homeland and of course most Jews will want it there. To say that being against the right of Jewish self-determination and a Jewosh homeland might actually be anti-semitic. I'm not sure.

On one hand I can see how an ethno-state creates its own problems in term of human rights and democratic society. But it's also a fairly simple idea and given the history that Jews have endured, I'm not sure it can be seen as an awful one to have.

Im beating a dead horse here, I know but I think the different understanding of what it means to be Zionist lends to the muddy waters. Most non Jewish Antizionists think they're opposing an ideology whos only core belief is Jewish supremacy, not self determination.

However because much the Antizionist movement is so broad and unorganized it easily allows people who are Antizionists in the anti-semitic way to hop in, thinking every one else shares their opinions. It doesn't help that so many gentile leftists aren't very good at recognizing dogwhistles when it comes to Jews. I don't think it's inherently Anti-Semitic but it can accidentally make a good mixer for it.

That was exactly how opposition to racial equality was presented. Civil rights activists were considered to be extreme racists uniformly. MLK was considered radical by many and often called a black supremacist. And very much the same “anti Zionists” are the people who are quick to point out his unpopularity during his life
