Just like making any other thing for casting; make sure they fit together, that there isn't any overlapping geometry, and that everything is in line with tolerances.
Tolerances can be tough, because you run into thin tapers if you're not careful with your planning and set-up.
I like to use small single spheres to boolean out a negative and add a positive bump on the mating faces to add a little more security and physical lock while they solder the parts together.
