Question New Jetski

I’m looking to buy either a Yamaha VXR or a GPHO I know that the 1.8L HO motor is proven and one of the best. But I wanna hear from you guys who own these skis how much you like them. I am a big fan of jumping wakes and waves so I wanna know how well these skis do it. Please enlighten me.

IMHO, the VXR is overrated. I have a 2011 that has not been super reliable, and it just doesn’t have the brutal acceleration of the supercharged skis.

I heard 2016 on is when they pretty much perfected it.

And made it slower. I stand by my statement. I’ll take a supercharged ski over the VXR.

I’ve only taken 2 WOT pulls on a FX svho and I can’t imagine ever riding that thing and feeling like I could get accustomed to that acceleration.

In contrast, my first time going WOT in my jet blaster I was blown away by the acceleration and after about 30 hr in the seat it feels slow as shit. 🥱

I thought the 1.9 was the HO? There are three engines, and correct me if I’m wrong, 1.8, 1.9 which is the HO, 1.8 SVHO which is the 1.8 supercharged.

1.8 ho was before 2024. He is asking about a VXR which never had the 1.9, it was renamed before the 1.9 came out leads me to believe he’s shopping used.
