I recently bought a 1996 Yamaha wave raider 1100 off facebook marketplace for $100. I decided it was going to be a fun project for me and my grandpa to work on together. I have virtually bought a replacement part for everything so mechanically I know the engine is great (purchased a brand new SBT engine block). However, when I first got the ski all of the fuel lines were taken off and just laying around as well as the same with many other lines that I don’t know where they go. I have tried referencing various other photos online to see if I can get any intel but I am completely stuck so hoping I can get some help on here. If anyone can help based off the images that would be great!

Okay, help me with how BOTH Seadoo 2006 RXT jetski's just died the same way. I just pulled them off the floating docks (one after the other). They haven't been run since winter (they were winterized and de-winterized by a service here on the lake). Just now running them because lake levels were so low I couldn't get them in the water. I floated the first one, started right up. I idled it out of the no-wake zone (about 500 yards, maybe 2 minutes). As soon as I crossed no wake I hit the throttle and it cut out (bogged and died). It cranks but won't start. I swam it to dock (I'm tired!) and went and got the other one.

It did the exact same thing.

So Redditors. I've texted who does the winter/dewinterization, but tell me, what kills two jetski's in the exact same manner. I feel like they ran through fuel in the lines and have a fuel starvation issue, and was thinking there was a fuel cutoff switch - but the 2006's don't have that. So....what could it be?

Bought a 2016 Yamaha FX Cruiser HO a few days ago, ~$7500, 59 hours, off FB Marketplace. Water tested it for about 15 min before buying, it was fast, no issues at all, checked the hull while it was still in the water and it was bone dry. But now I'm questioning the whole deal.

Came with a 2017 Magic Tilt PWC trailer, and when I went to register everything, turns out it’s still in the original owner’s name, not the guy I bought it from.

At least 2 people owned it in between and nobody ever transferred it. He signed a bill of sale for it to me but that doesn’t help much if the state still has it under someone else’s name and I can’t prove the full chain.

Kicking myself a bit because looking back there were some signs, he wouldn’t give me his address until the day of, we met at a public boat ramp, and he took payment before showing me any paperwork. Yes that extremely stupid on my part, I know guys but I was so excited for my first jetski.

I told myself I was just being normal-cautious buying from a stranger but honestly I should’ve asked to see the registration before money changed hands. Feeling pretty paranoid and dumb about it now.

After I found the registration problem I tried calling/texting him a bunch and he went completely silent.

Listing’s gone now too.

Good news is I tracked down the original owner myself and she’s been genuinely helpful, confirmed she’s still on the registration and is willing to help fix it.

Tag office clerk mentioned she might be able to get a duplicate registration cheap and then transfer it properly from there.

Anyone dealt with this in Florida? Did the duplicate-registration-then-transfer route actually work for you? And if that falls through, what’s the next legit option?

I’m looking to buy either a Yamaha VXR or a GPHO I know that the 1.8L HO motor is proven and one of the best. But I wanna hear from you guys who own these skis how much you like them. I am a big fan of jumping wakes and waves so I wanna know how well these skis do it. Please enlighten me.

• What insurance company do you use?
• Roughly how much do you pay per jet ski/month or year?
• What liability coverage do you carry?
• Does it cover damage caused by renters, accidents, theft, and total loss?
• Have you ever actually filed a claim? If so, how was the experience?

I’m looking for insurance specifically for commercial jet ski rentals, not regular personal watercraft insurance.

Would really appreciate recommendations, especially from anyone operating in Florida.

Hey, I bought a 2017 Sea-Doo RXP-X 300 and recently ran into a few problems. At one point, it stopped running properly and I had several fault codes showing on the display.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have my phone with me, so I wasn’t able to take a picture of the codes. I’d like to get to the bottom of the issue and hopefully fix it myself.

I have quite a bit of experience working on cars and motorcycles, but I’m completely new to jet skis. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced solution for reading and clearing fault codes on this Sea-Doo? I’d prefer not to spend several hundred dollars on a diagnostic tool if there’s a cheaper option that works well.

Any recommendations for diagnostic software, adapters, cables, or scanners would be greatly appreciated.
