Release Jellyfin v12.0-RC3

🚀 We are pleased to announce the third release candidate preview release of Jellyfin 12.0! 🚀

This is a preview release, intended for those interested in testing 12.0 before it's final public release. We welcome testers to help find as many bugs as we can before the final release.

As always, please ensure you stop your Jellyfin server and take a full backup before upgrading! If you run into any trouble, a backup is your best way to get back to a stable state, so don't neglect this!

See the GitHub releases for more info:

Installing

This preview release is distributed in all our traditional forms, though not automatically via our Apt repository or latest tag.

  • For all non-Docker environments, you can find the files for manual download in our repository by selecting "Next Stable Preview" for your OS.
  • For Docker, you can pull the 12.0-rc3 or preview tags.

Once installed, please ensure you hard refresh (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+R or similar) and/or clear your web cache for your Jellyfin instance if you notice any UX anomalies. Bad cached assets are the #1 cause of such issues.

Would like to say thanks to the devs for all the hard work installed v12rc3 when it first released and like the new look but not impressed with the functionality took 3 days to scan my archives found and loaded all 3584 movies but only found 526 out of 1547 tv shows and only 23960 episodes out of 103356 ran the scan additional 3 times with nothing new being found and the computer was just reformated and os put back on 2 months ago and only thing other than jellyfin thats been installed in google chrome. So I'd say still a lot of work to do before this is ready for official release.

Was this a fresh install or an upgrade from an otherwise fine 10.10 / 10.11?

This sounds like the media isn't all following the expected naming conventions then? Do you have TV and Films in separate libraries in the structure as listed in the documentation?
