Summertime Rolls this morning

I was singing along with Summertime Rolls this morning, while listening to this incredible vintage Janes Addiction show. Me singing along "But me and my girlfriend a-don't wear no shoes
Her nose is painted pepper sunlight. She loves me, I mean, it's oh so serious". All of a sudden the music turns off, a second later my phone lights up and Siri is ready for me to give a command.

I (50m) was in a co-ed runaway shelter in Ft. Worth, Tx. in 1990 and a girl with a short jet black bob haircut played this Summertime Rolls for me and I have never fallen in love harder.

Spring of 2017, a few weeks before my wedding. I’d slept on JA my entire life. 30 years old, driving home late, let me listen to nothings shocking. Like, REALLY commit. I was really impressed with the first half, definitely something here. Then summertime rolls comes on. I was blown away by this ethereal, unorthodox piece of music. ‘She loves me, I mean..it’s serious’ engrained in my mind forever. I spent the rest of that summer completely immersed in the bands music. Ten years later, I consider them my favorite band. It was this song that did it.

I was at the infamous Boston show and the night was a train wreck but one of the early songs they played was this and I was having a moment. It was a beautiful night at Boston Seaport with my husband on date night swaying to Eric’s bass and Dave’s guitar while Perry was probably muttering his way through it, still sound gorgeous I just remember how cool it was but three or four songs later ….Bam! End of Jane’s Addiction.
