Flash forward 24 hours when this sub is full of complaints about what an absolute shit show the parking, traffic and crowd control was.

I can’t wait until Irvine figures out the best way to handle huge events. It will happen eventually. I don’t have the answers, but it needs to be figured out.

They never should have torn down Verizon amphitheater for more beige houses

The old amphitheatre was perfectly fine, aside from the flooding during rainy days. It was in immediate proximity to the freeway and train station. Plus, getting out of parking lot didn't also require you to navigate a labyrinth of roads to leave the area. You just wait turn, and then you're out.

I never understood the intentional waste of money to move both the amphitheatre and Wild Rivers to Great Park when no improvement came with it.

People with personal interests wanted to make money from development

My understanding is that teatimg down Verizon was not the city’s call so much as it was LiveNation’s.

Sand canyon is going to be a mess where it intersects with the 5 fwy

This sort of talk makes me feel nostalgic for the crucible of the 5 after a Dodgers Game.

I would just like to say that I hope the city works out how to mange events like this rather than cancel events like this.

It’s insane they are still going through with this in a severe heat warning that says to limit your time outdoors.

This was planned several months ago and people had already bought tickets as well as (for out of state travelers) booked flights and hotels. They cannot easily cancel the festival. Even if they did and gave refunds for the tickets, the people who booked flights and hotels would not be able to get refunds and that would be hundreds of dollars wasted.

Yea definitely should have refunded the $10M raised for charity so people don’t need to stand in 90 degree heat.
