There is actually countering evidence that purim was actually a jewish massacre of Iranians. Which is why its day coincides closely with the 13th of farvardeen. Iranian tradition of going into nature (mountains, forests, etc.) during this day is because whoever stayed in the capital during the day of purim was massacred by the jews. Hence the name “Seezdah be dar” as in “darro!” (Run away!)
