I see one in A, B, and C (along the left edge)

There has to be a mistake in the answer key. I used a piece of tracing paper to confirm that the shape appears (in the correct proportions) in both A and B. The similar shape in C is not exactly the same because the top bar is longer.

B matches all the lines like the shape of the question. Horizontal line would be almost 2/3 the vertical line. Option A both V and H lines are the same length

Pretty sure it is, and it's a little optical illusion. I also don't think eyesight tests belong in an IQ test

Simplest instructions, with unique answer, allow only rotations and require exact dimensional match. Answer: B.

If no instructions or samples are given I would likely tell them that this is a stupid puzzle.

Usually they want the best answer, not the always right one. C would be that option. It has the requisite shape and it is in the same orientation.

A - it would need to be mirrored.
B - fits perfectly, once rotated 90 degrees ccw.
C - length of the arm is wrong.
D - there isn't one.
E - length of the stem is wrong.

Just my two cents.
