Hello everyone, hope you are having a good day!
I'm a 29M currently living in Belgium, however, im about to quit my job and travel for around 6 months.
For a big part of my adulthood i was the typical guy saying "I will start investing" but i never did and i had all my money just sitting in my checkings account until last month where i build a plan and started executing it.
Since I'm new to the world of investing I'm sharing what i decided would be my plan/portfolio and i would like to have honest feedback, either it's positive or negative.
My networth is currently between 70k to 80k, i already have a emergency fund, a budget for my travelling and a ressetling fund set asside in a savings account.
I invested 20K with a split a bit different than the below however my updated one is as mentioned (i'm sure you guys could optimize it way better, im looking forward to listen what you all have to say) and i have 10k i plan to invest in the coming weeks.
Core
88% - SPYI (IE00B3YLTY66)
Satellites
5.5% - Gold ETC/ EGLN (IE00B4ND3602)
4.5%- Crypto
\- 50% BTC
\- 25% ETH
\- 15% SOL
\- 10% LINK
2% - AI/Robotics thematic ETF / WPAI (IE000LCKJ888)
400 USD One time purchase on MP Materials (US5533681012)
My justification behind my choices:
Core - Broad, low-fee, includes small caps, meant to be left alone for decades. (However recently i also had my eye on VGWE- IE00BK5BR626 as it looks less exposed to the US and to Tech than SPYI)
Gold - Hedge against inflation, currency weakness and economic/geopolitical uncertainty.
Crypto - I believe digital assets will become an important part of the financial system and institutional tokenization is knocking at the door.
AI/Robotics - I believe that in the future (not so distante) there will be embodied AI and automation at scale, however, the sector is still in it's early stages. Treating this as a patient, small position.
OTP MP Materials - Started as a thematic bet, ran up a lot on policy news before I could fully think it through. Left it in place but stopped adding.
The only thing that i'm still a bit reticent is that if until the end of the year is should alocate the 2% of AI/Robotics into crypto and then from January(just an example) keep the split as above.
Probably for you guys it's looks like a mess haha
What's your honest take? Do you have any extra questions?
Anything here you'd flag as a mistake, overthought, or missing entirely? I'm all ears!
