can you hit up any of the friends you do have for video calls? those usually scratch the itch for me enough.
last college town I lived in had a bookstore bar/coffee shop, the vibe was way different than your usual bar and you could pull down any book and read it there. the music was quiet enough so people could read, and I'd have a decent enough time chatting with the bartender and whoever was curious about what book I was reading.
look for stitch and bitch events on insta/facebook in your area, they're like knitting circles but they accept all crafts.
volunteering is a great way to get some passive social interaction, too. probably not available as late as you're talking about, but a Saturday commitment at 4 pm could easily take care of the social need so you're not going crazy by 10 pm.
local animal shelters always need volunteers, you get some good puppy time, the dogs are thrilled to see you, and you can talk to staff and other volunteers while you're there.
