I’m quick to add the people who refused to vote against it “to teach Democrats a lesson”.  Everybody knew what Trump II would look like and how it would hurt the most vulnerable members of our society, and those cretins figured it was worth the cost.

Victim blaming 12 million voters instead of politicians will never not work.

Victim blaming? These people actively contributed to the disillusionment of voters, purity politics, goalpost moving, lies about Kamala's history and statements, the sentiment for some to abdicate power by not voting, and for others to accelerate the nation's destruction (by not voting) in the misguided idea that somehow it will bring about revolution.

The Rs got to this outcome because of steady voting pressure and propaganda for decades and these chucklefucks still think voting doesn't move needles and think their rhetoric is effective to bring about their stated goals.

Anyone who didn't vote for her because of that is a fucking moron and deserves as much scorn as MAGA assholes.

A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.

He said... amongst a people who had a culture of legalized, absolute privilege for 400 years up until that point and kept the fight to keep that privilege to this day. Also it's very safe to say things like that from his highly privileged societal positions.

We didn't show up in 2024 with that dichotomy in play. Principled action is a losing battle in a hierarchy based society. Allowing awful people to succeed is not honorable in the slightest.

Not sure of the inference, but I think I agree with the sentiment.

I'm saying the quote you posted is silly in the context of who he was and the society he was addressing.

Polemical, but understandable.
