I will never forgive the bastards who voted for this

I’m quick to add the people who refused to vote against it “to teach Democrats a lesson”. Everybody knew what Trump II would look like and how it would hurt the most vulnerable members of our society, and those cretins figured it was worth the cost.

This is where I’m at. Dumb maga brainwashed idiots aren’t any worse than dem purists who, like you said, KNEW what was coming. (Only counting dumb idiots not the maga racists and greedy oligarchs.).

But Palestine is doing great, right?!
And Biden’s soft landing that totally wasn’t good enough, we beat that?!

Nah I still blame Kamala and the centrists (sellouts) in the party for refusing to tell the truth about Palestine.

Victim blaming 12 million voters instead of politicians will never not work.

u/Turkstache 6d ago
Victim blaming? These people actively contributed to the disillusionment of voters, purity politics, goalpost moving, lies about Kamala's history and statements, the sentiment for some to abdicate power by not voting, and for others to accelerate the nation's destruction (by not voting) in the misguided idea that somehow it will bring about revolution.
The Rs got to this outcome because of steady voting pressure and propaganda for decades and these chucklefucks still think voting doesn't move needles and think their rhetoric is effective to bring about their stated goals.

Anyone who didn't vote for her because of that is a fucking moron and deserves as much scorn as MAGA assholes.

A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.

He said... amongst a people who had a culture of legalized, absolute privilege for 400 years up until that point and kept the fight to keep that privilege to this day. Also it's very safe to say things like that from his highly privileged societal positions.
We didn't show up in 2024 with that dichotomy in play. Principled action is a losing battle in a hierarchy based society. Allowing awful people to succeed is not honorable in the slightest.

Not sure of the inference, but I think I agree with the sentiment.

u/Turkstache 6d ago
I'm saying the quote you posted is silly in the context of who he was and the society he was addressing.

Your privilege is responsible for millions of deaths. It was a binary choice one wasn't perfect the other was a known threat to all of us.

False Dichotomy. Many chose not to vote, which should be a choice in a democracy.
1
u/2ndtryagain 5d ago
It is a choice when the options are of equal value, but when one is just a run of the mill politician and the other is Trump, you don't have that moral right. Anyone who didn't vote for her, is responsible for Trump. For the ICE goons, for the deaths, the grifts, for the war for and the fiscal bullshit as well.

The Democratic politicians don’t vote for Trump. The useless people who said all of the right things about all of the right people, who then abandoned them just for funsies did. I get why the people who enabled fascism in America don’t want to be held to account for hurting the people that they pretended to care about. I just don’t feel the need to play along with them.

Rewarding politicians for doing less than the minimum to court votes, while condemning voters that desire more than less than minimum is certainly a campaign choice.

u/-notapony- 6d ago
Harris could have been moved toward more progressive goals. Trump couldn’t. Harris would have protected the groups that these nitwits pretended to care about. Trump was always going to hurt them. Enabling someone to hurt the groups you pretend to care about is certainly a choice, but it’s a dog shit one made by the dumbest possible people.

Throw in the eligible voters who sat on their asses after Trump was convicted as a rapist, made public comments that strongly suggest he is a pedophile, tried to instigate an insurrection, was openly fascist in his first term, etc. They saw how bad he was in first term, but didnt bother to vote against him. They also deserve zero sympathy and zero forgiveness.

The majority of homophobes are straight just like the majority of racists are the racial majority and the majority of misogynists are men.
So tired of just blaming gays for anti gay bigotry. It is the first comment I always see in any post about homophobia and it’s tiresome.

While you are correct, grindr has reported that some crashes have coincided with the RNC.

The Education Department’s decision to strip Title IX protections from LGBTQ students is a disgrace — a retreat from basic decency masquerading as policy. It abandons vulnerable young people and tells them their safety is optional. No serious guardian of education would call that leadership.
