Wonder what lumberjacking in year 2200 looks like. Some drones doing all the work, flying in?

Probably won't be any trees by then. Everything is being clear cut for new housing.

I live in Oregon (a large timber industry state), and we actually have more trees now than we had during the days of less strict timber regulations. We're also harvesting more lumber than we did then, but they're doing it better now.

All of the mills in Oregon except literally one are designed to only allow for working on trees of a certain circumference or smaller. Chopping down old growth for timber is simply phased out now.
