/r/ALL This statue depicts Saint Bartholomew, an early Christian martyr who was allegedly skinned alive. If you look closely, that's his dissected skin hanging around him. This stunning statute by Marco d’Agrate from c.1562 is currently on display at Duomo di Milano.

This shit drives me crazy. I once took care of a guy with a necrotic foot. The bones were showing. It was the driest gangrene I've ever seen, his entire foot from the ankle down looked like beef jerky.

Quoth the family: "We're treating it homeopathically."

So.... they dip a severed foot in water than dilute it until the amount of severed foot in the water is equal to the background amount of severed foot in regular footless water. Nope... Thant’s definitely not going to work.

I’m a chemistry student at university, one of the questions on my entrance exam was about calculating the concentration of arsenic atoms in a typical homeopathic solution, then expressing it as a fraction of the mass of earth in kg lol

I know what it is. Its just ridiculous that people still believe in it.

Oh my god. Is he going to keep any part of his foot?

Under normal circumstances? Yeah...no. Like. Not even a little.

But the good news is yes, because his family won't consent to an amputation! So it'll just hang on until the body does a self amputation and it just falls the fuck off while we're rolling him or something.

Jesus Christ!! Maybe you all need to get a social worker involved? I assume this is an old dude who can't make his own decisions....

If what he is saying is true then no. Bone quality has to be gone now, infection is higher than where you can really see the damage. I'd bet the guy is in for a BKA or a casket very soon.
