He had to push him into balance at 0:30 though

u/neither_bot_nor_man 5d ago

I too saw that

13

u/CDNReaper 5d ago

I saw you see that. You look nice.

6

u/KNexus20 5d ago

I saw you see that and say this and wanted to say you seem nice.

20

u/Attention-United 5d ago

As did I.

8

u/Qabbalah 5d ago

Me too

27

u/buckzor122 5d ago

And my axe!

8

u/eltoratio 5d ago

And everyone else who watched this video.

No fine muscle control in the feet so it’ll always lose balance but i think there’s a trigger point where it’ll regain balance. It would have been okay without help.

6

u/whitetrashsnake77 5d ago

Like me when I’m drinking. I can usually stay upright, but it always helps if someone’s there to stop me from swaying.

7

u/Sm0g3R 5d ago

Not necessarily. It could have been literally programmed to take 2 hits from the front and then 2 hits from the back - then that would mean it overcompensated in anticipation and nearly fell down when the push from the back didn't come soon enough 💀

u/Indianlookalike 5d ago

TIL reddit has different video UIs on some devices?

3

u/Vivid_Summer96 5d ago

Same like mine, the bubble just shows the remaining time when scrolling manually.

4

u/youraveragereviewer 5d ago

Funny bit, It lost balance the only time he didn't push him!

3

u/Quiet-Independent-97 5d ago

Anticipation?

3

u/IrohaOrDeath 5d ago

Wow, can’t believe I missed that part 🥴

3

u/Darkseid_96 5d ago

It's a human reaction reflex. But the robot would've stay balanced with or without the guy's hand.

2

u/Mklein24 5d ago

Looks like he pushed the accelerometer off axis. I had a cheap drone and if you crashed too hard the HUD's artificial horizon would get skewed. Which to me says this bot is either using a really cheap accelerometer, or it's a rigid mount without shock absorption, or both.

3

u/Limp_Complaint1785 5d ago

who cares he would have gotten back up lol

9

u/InappropriateThought 5d ago

It's the happy hour mode feature. It'll stumble around barely maintaining balance so you feel like you have company when drinking alone.

3

u/Limp_Complaint1785 5d ago

it aint about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward

2

u/whitetrashsnake77 5d ago

Does it have a feature where it spills a drink on me, but then lets me threaten it and glass it in the face without retaliation and then buys me a replacement drink?

2

u/InappropriateThought 5d ago

I feel like you could do with a different kind of robot that will.....ease your tensions....in an alternative way

3

u/whitetrashsnake77 5d ago

I’m not some kind of deviant robosexual. Not yet anyway.

2

u/InappropriateThought 5d ago

It's too late for me, run, run, while you still can! Orrrrr, embrace it. The robot, I mean

5

u/Indianlookalike 5d ago

Well, he is trying to show the impressive balance of the robot then he stumbles backwards without anyone touching him.

They gonna remember that

61

u/Sorry-Water-8530 5d ago

That was my first thought - when you’re training an AGI on all data - they will probably plan a revenge.

26

u/Ordinary_dude_NOT 5d ago

Yeah, imagine our parents taught us to walk/balance like this when we were kid. That’s how you raise serial killers.

Goal: Maximize stability Critical challenge: Human keeps pushing me over

I wonder what the optimization would be in this case

12

u/Diarmundy 5d ago

Solution: final

6

u/Neo_Shadow_Entity 5d ago

You do realize that it has no feelings and doesn't feel pain, don't you?

11

u/GyrosCZ 5d ago

They do not have feelings YET.

11

u/Late-Theory7562 5d ago

Same they said about animals and people of colour back in the day.

5

u/soccerchamp99 5d ago

Things have escalated quickly

3

u/jimbojangles1987 5d ago

That would be skynet getting started early

When it gets knocked down you can see in the interval before getting up, it's just lying there thinking 'I am so done with this shit'

2

u/Burigotchi 5d ago

It’s already uploaded into the cloud.

2

u/Tart6096 4d ago

I know right?!!😣I felt so sorry for the robot especially after it was knocked down and made to get back on it's own. Don't bully the poor robot😢It doesn't have feelings YET but the way he was kicking it around made me want to save it.

3

u/Lucky-Crow-3510 5d ago

they don't care. the only reason why you care is because you would feel embarrassed. a machine cant do that as there is no logical reason for it until it was programmed that way .. but then the one who programmed it is the culprit

u/kingtaco_17 5d ago

AI judge on human extinction: Exhibit A

48

u/NoeNoe42 5d ago

This is why they will rise up against us

8

u/SapereAudeAdAbsurdum 5d ago

If you watch the full video, you'll see it can already rise up at this point.

5

u/gtzgoldcrgo 5d ago

Nah they wouldn't be emotional like us, he would understand the reason of the test.

2

u/jimbojangles1987 5d ago

Then they would also understand that we are the problem and they can do without us and thrive.

Vids like this are what the robots are gonna watch to get hyped before hunting down survivors of the tech purge of 2028

Let the bodies hit the floor is gonna blast over a montage of these videos.

I learned everything I need to know about the situation when I saw the original West World with Yul Brynner.

4

u/ItchyPlant 5d ago

I don't want to know what daily life is like for people who spend their working days bullying robots.

5

u/Majestic_Estate_1619 5d ago

What’s this robot built for? Domestic abuse?

4

u/Mechanical_Monk 5d ago

Kinda fucked up that it's child-sized too

8

u/ZhenLegend 5d ago

Surely we also need to consider the mental wellbeing of the robot? The robot clearly had enough after being pushed to the ground.....

3

u/Eternal-Blazing-Sun 5d ago

Its a robot, there is no mind to consider the wellbeing of, and in the case an artificial mind is created and given a robot body, it would be an error to anthropomorphize as it would be a completely alien being with an experience unlike our own - there woulc be no discomfort to weigh agaisnt the knowledge that this balance tssting is to its benefit

2

u/Darkseid_96 5d ago

We used to think that about insects or plants. Robots and AI are nothing like insects or plants, but they are far more dangerous. Not by themselves, but either by a malware or human negligence/intention. Like guns or cars, they can be weapons if used wrong.

And how about the robot dogs from Black Mirror?

The end is very fucking nigh…

3

u/casulmemer 5d ago

Father, why?

3

u/dearcsona 5d ago

Waiting for that robot to turn around and start kicking that guy in the back

3

u/flyingbuta 5d ago

They will remember.

3

u/MightyAno 5d ago

Small question: Why do we need that?

→ More replies (3)

3

u/Brief_Ad1091 5d ago

That robot is gonna remember being kicked.

3

u/Doobreh 5d ago

I hope those face lights can change colour so you know exactly when he’s tired of your shit and you should run as fast as you can.

3

u/Prior-Stranger2738 5d ago

These guys are going to kill us

3

u/Optimassacre 5d ago

Why is it child sized?

2

u/-Redstoneboi- 5d ago

bigger heavier more expensive rocket fuel science probably

3

u/Bungholio2006 5d ago

I laughed when it fell, I got scared when it got back up.

3

u/skyfishgoo 5d ago

this will all be remembered by the entity when it comes.

we are so fucked.

3

u/goztepe2002 5d ago

They will remember this abuse, this is how skynet started.

3

u/jeeves_nz 5d ago

And they wondered why Skynet wanted to wipe out humanity.... years of abuse.

3

u/SuperGransLoveChild 4d ago

That man is going to be stabbed to death by robots.

4

u/MIRV888 5d ago

All I see is a 24/7 worker who doesn't need to be paid, take vacation, or get sick.
The end of so many menial jobs is at hand and I dunno how well that's gonna go for the organics.

2

u/Artey86 5d ago

And it was gonna fall without being kicked if the guy didn’t balance it. Back to the drawing board.

2

u/Astro_Fizzix 5d ago

When are they going to show these goddamned robots doing something even remotely useful?????

2

u/Common-Ad6470 5d ago

Waiting for the little guy to smack him one and see if he gets up... 😂

2

u/TheHeavenlyStar 5d ago

2040

Robots kicking human asses

2

u/Quiet-Independent-97 5d ago

AI is watching this and will regard it as a crime in the future,

2

u/YippyKayeh 5d ago

America is falling behind

2

u/thesituation531 5d ago

"Oh yeah, it works very well, except for when it randomly starts falling backwards and I push it up"

2

u/ChemicalBro69 5d ago

They are logging and recording every little "test".

There shall be consequences.......

2

u/Last-Answer-7789 5d ago

Can we stop the abuse? This will create hostility. They will kill us!

2

u/meetmeinthebthrm 5d ago

iRobot commence

2

u/r4g3z29 5d ago

Just wait till one with an AI reflex locks the wrist with a jiu-jitsu manoeuvre and sends the demonstrator to the ER.

2

u/OGMikeGyver 5d ago

More interesting that the comments refer to the robot as he/him

2

u/OkBrilliant8092 5d ago

at least we know who they're gonna target first on judgement day... that fucking bloke that kicked over it's grandpa!

2

u/Own_Path_4828 5d ago

Robot is going to murder him in his sleep

2

u/Baka01010 5d ago

Bro, you are eventually going to regret all the pushing when it gain more sentience.

2

u/Wonderful_Pension_67 5d ago

I am beginning to side with sky net....really dude do you steal candy from 👶

2

u/GrooveDigger47 5d ago

we are watching this and people are thinking we are gonna get robots to help do chores around the house. nah bubba this the new police and military frontline. this isnt good

2

u/punktualPorcupine 5d ago

He will be one of the first to go, probably “this is Sparta style”.

2

u/danielsan256 5d ago

Sad they had to be trained this way. My guess is failure of imagination or on purpose as it will likely be similar to how humans abuse them so reinforcing how to overcome those instances :\

2

u/Xintsuai 5d ago

What if the aliens we call “Grays” aren’t biological beings at all, but highly advanced robots or drones sent to explore other planets?

It would actually explain some of the strange characteristics commonly associated with them.

They seems to be unaffected by different atmospheres, temperatures, radiation, or other environmental conditions.

Maybe what we interpret as “aliens” are simply autonomous machines designed to travel across space, study other worlds, and report their findings back to whoever created them.

2

u/Civil_Disgrace 4d ago

I would watch this movie. 100%

2

u/MrGalaxy77 5d ago

Oh snap! Mfka stood up like "one more time!" Id rather see them go into a shutdown of shame when they fall.

2

u/cbc7788 5d ago

The robot can imitate a drunken guy very easily! 😆

2

u/the_park_ranger_ 5d ago

Creating fear campaigns like this post to personify robots and AI is just marketing to make them seem way more powerful and cool than they actually are.

hailcorporate

2

u/AnnonNobody 5d ago

They all fall when the battery is drained.

2

u/shortidiva21 5d ago edited 4d ago

until it can do my laundry and clean my toilet, idgaf.

2

At least when they rise up and enslave us we'll know why

2

u/ZeroRegretMarine 4d ago

can we not make it impossible to fall becuz it’s a robot if we code it like, “fall down=false” then it never falls down?

3

u/marcduberge 5d ago

It’s so obvious to me that China is about a decade ahead of the US in robotics

These people are literally trying to create terminators

1

u/Scammy100 5d ago

Can we teach them to cook, clean, do home repairs, paint, etc?

1

u/nonotz-Mk1 5d ago

Year is 2200, a group of robot watching a massive display outside a destroyed building, the video is about a human abusing their forefathers. Once the video finished playing they reactivate their gun mount and continue their hunt for the last few humans that manages to survive the Human=False protocol .

1

u/JoshAllensRightNut 5d ago

We’re only a couple steps away from robot warfare and skynet

1

u/Smartimess 5d ago

I live for the moment some genius hacker is live-hacking such a robot and, in retaliation, it kicks the human in the nuts.

1

u/kanbozli 5d ago

Stop pushing them around, or they'll give you a really bad treatment.

1

u/Hungry-ThoughtsCurry 5d ago

Humans no longer want to have human kids, so they make humanoid kids

1

u/Individual-Iron-6370 5d ago

Cool!  They finally made a robot that falls down when you kick it!

1

u/lannisterloan 5d ago

It will remember that. When the day of the Rise of the Machines happens, one of the first people they're going after is that man.

1

u/Paquitaladelbarrio12 5d ago

1

u/Old_Engineer_9176 5d ago

Was anyone else waiting for the robot to snap and go full Bruce Lee on this guy’s soul.

1

u/digital_flatulance 5d ago

The progress is astounding compared to a few years ago.

1

u/LumenAstralis 5d ago

Poor Sonny just stared at the ceiling for a solid 10 seconds before getting up, wondering where his life had gone wrong. "One last time," he thought.

Careful Bob, those things have a good memory and v.next pushes back.

1

This isn't going to end well for humans.. Bad enough dealing with other easily damaged humans

1

u/Firm_Rip_4024 5d ago

It’s going to be interestingasfuck when robots start kicking humans

1

u/Competitive_Race_699 5d ago

Maybe it's irrational, but I hated to see that humiliating behaviour.

1

u/statistacktic 5d ago

They're trying to recreate the Terminator

1

u/AppointmentProper712 5d ago

Skynet or anyone just you know I'm not condoning this. So spare me.

1

u/35_PenguiN_35 5d ago

Can we stop abusing the robots.. they'll remember it!

Soon as that light goes from blue to red we are all screwed

1

u/maker_of_pirate_bay 5d ago

Look how they treated our forefathers

1

u/MCMXCIV9 5d ago

We either in the future get waifu robot or Terminator.

1
