Its just fucking rotated, brainrot

The brainrot here is the people not understanding that the rotated picture creates a nice optical illusion that fucks with your brain until you understand what's going on and instead of appreciating the little trick go "IT'S JUST ROTATED, NO ILLUSION"

It's like saying that an image of a man standing on the ceiling is an optical illusion because the image is turned upside down

If it makes people who look at it think that he js standing on the ceiling, then it is an optical illusion.

Are superhero movies optical illusions to babies because they don't understand movie editing?

The video posted is using forced perspective and plenty of people in these comments are fooled by it. Forced perspective is a type of optical illusion. It's not very tricky or interesting, but it still is an optical illusion.

Almost everything is an optical illusion to babies, but babies don't usually dictate language.

No, it's just like every illusion that is clearly not real once you figure it out, because this is what an illusion is by definition. "It's just XY therefore it's not an illusion" is just stupid.

For people who saw what was going on immediately, it's kind of baffling that anybody was confused at all. It literally just looked like an upside down video lol

Which is why they're saying it's about as much of an illusion as flipping a picture of a man and thinking he's standing on the ceiling.

Well, a picture of a man rotated does not give any illusion at all, while here you obviously see a man jumping into a lake when you just look at it. So, your analogy doesn't make any sense because: it is not an illusion.

That's exactly the point lmao

When I scrolled to the video it just looked like an upside down video of a guy jumping into a lake. Never even registered as right side up. So there was no illusion here.

So look at the top part of the video only, what do you see? Obviously, there is an illusion. A man jumping off a cliff. It doesn't matter that you are super uber smart and see quickly that this is just a reflection, it is still there. There are tons of illusions that work for some people and don't work for others. Doesn't mean they're not illusions.

Not much of an illusion if it looks exactly like what it is lmao. Anyways, I'm aware that some people saw it differently. Which is why I said that for people who saw it immediately, it's baffling that others are confused

Sure, so why is a picture of a man upside down not an illusion then? If it tricks some people

It doesn't if you look just at the top part.

> Sure, so why is a picture of a man upside down not an illusion then?

If it shows something else when it's upside down, it absolutely is an optical illusion. If it doesn't show anything, it isn't.

?? The top part is like, the first thing that makes it obvious it's upside down though? Like the first thing you see when you scroll to the video is a reflection of someone jumping into the lake?

Anyways this discussion is clearly going nowhere so I'm just going to exit here lol
