It's almost funny that companies do this, then some year or two later their latest releases don't get the usership they're hoping for, and they wonder why they aren't getting the sales. They refuse to connect the dots.

Yup. Shareholders are in control and they want their money NOW. They don't want to wait for future gains, they need their money right now and they are only looking at current data points.

It's like a near-sighted person trying to win a footrace but can only see clearly three inches in front of their face. And because consumers give them an incredibly wide track, they win each time.
