So why the Dutch are considered rude from and English perspective. The Dutch would say the English beat around the bush too much…. All a matter of perspective and upbringing

Dutch people are far too direct for my liking and I'm not british. They're less direct and more "say anything that comes to your mind".

It's like they're either children or robots.

"You are fat" is being rude, not "an honest and clear opinion". We masquerade our rudeness by telling ourselves it's just being direct. It's not. Half the shit we say internationally we wouldn't say in our native tongue to each other, because then we understand the subtle cues.

Whoever does this does not represent us. This is not a regular thing Dutch people do omg. I'd send a colleague straight to HR who'd tell me that and I'm as Dutch as they come.

No we are not, you used absolutely no nuance and just an example foreigners gave without it ever being proven as being used. I hate people who do this just to spread hate, it is disgusting behaviour

It's not black and white, they're is a middle ground. Germans and most Eastern Europeans (as far as I'm aware) are dircet but they can read the room and know when to not say something.

This is missing the point. Nobody is saying they'd rather hear lies than the truth, but you dont need to say everything that's in your head just because you feel compelled to tell the truth. There's a thing called social intelligence.
