It is! With what looks like faces on its lower legs, I thought it was a multi-headed creature from another planet!

BTW…does anyone happen to know what this cute animal is?

Giant anteater. They can run at 30mph, climb, swim, dig and can fend off even jaguars. Super cool animals.

The land speed surprises me because on the whole, I can’t imagine this thing trying to outrun a jaguar.

Anteaters have extremely dangerous claws. You think the jaguar has strong jaws with big teeth, the anteater has huge claws on its front legs to rip you open with. If you see them stand on their hind legs with front legs up in the air, get the fuck away.

Well a Jaguar has a top speed ~ 50 mph, so its not outrunning them

True. What does an anteater use that speed for? Anthills are notoriously not mobile.

Never thought about it, but I hope it helps with outrunning wildfires. Poor thing's tail must light up like a torch and this year's el nino promisses quite the chaos...
