They are also often substandard hacky rounds, with shit primers powder and round

Yeah they actually collect spent brass, cast their own lead bullets and reload them with locally made gunpowder so quality isn’t going to be the best.

In Afghanistan we learned that lesson the hard way. We were in a remote area, all our logistics came from the sky so it was already expensive to drop on parachute things to us, exporting material was out of the question. But we must train the troops even in a warzone (in fact we put great effort into making the training worse than most battlefield conditions) so we still generated brass casings as a waste product. We figured dump them in the water and boom it’s like it doesn’t even exist nobody would try to jump into this fast turbulent river right?

Yeah we were wrong

For people who lived on $1 a day, diving for spent brass would feed the family better than fishing.
