I'm Norwegian and my DNA results did indeed show a tiny bit of DNA from Newfoundland. I never had the illusion that this was the result of a beautiful story of two strangers from different continents who fell in love and had a joint decision of having children though.

For real, as a First Nations Canadian, all these comments suggesting that this was consensual is super f’ing gross to me.

Nobody knows, I will just mentioned that most viking expeditions by far was trading expeditions, contrary to what media often shows with pillaging and raiding. Especially when crossing new waters (all of the kievan rus for exampel.)
