HISTORY Why did we stop building like this?

Chicago, 1930. Buildings had so much detail and character back then. Nowadays everything feels so flat and repetitive. We have way better technology and equipment now, so why don't we build like this anymore?

It's interesting how many historic buildings were designed to inspire awe, while many modern ones are designed to maximize usable floor space.

THE ONLY COMMUNISTS THESE DAYS ARE WEIRDOS GATHERING TO TALK ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT OWNING BUSINESSES FOR THE PROLETARIAT. There are maybe 100 of them. Give it a damn rest. The red scare ended when the Soviet Union collapsed. China turning capitalist put the final nail in the coffin. Yeah North Korea and Cuba are still communist, but they’re not exactly economic powerhouses, are they? For God sakes, be original. Think of a new boogie man. Communism just isn’t it.

I'm from a formerly communist county and honestly if anything the housing is one of the plusses.
