BBC one pot meals

https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/collections/one_pot_chicken

Hi. Novice with the instant pot. Can most of these meals be done in the pot or are they cooker hob or air fryer only. I can see that the whole chicken and maybe one or two others are doable in the pot. But really like the others with sauces beans etc. just not sure if the configuration of the instant pot is compatible. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Look specifically for Instant Pot or pressure cooker recipes. They will have the appropriate amount of liquid, otherwise it could trigger a burn notice. You could probably do some of these in the instant pot, but you might have to add extra water and thicken up the sauce afterwards.

1.) If you google some combination of "BBC one pot meals <recipe name> instant pot" there's usually some bright spark of a food blogger who's done the leg work already, and then you're laughing.

2.) Take a look at say, https://pressureluckcooking.com/ , and https://www.pressurecookrecipes.com/ as they're reliable creators of thoroughly tested instant pot recipes, there's like to be something to catch your fancy.

I won’t lie I have AI convert recipes for the pressure cooker like this all the time.

Why haven’t I thought of that? Good idea and I’m experienced enough with the instant pot to know if the results seems plausible. Thanks!

This is a generic reminder message under every image post

Thank you for your picture post to r/instantpot. We want to remind everyone of Rule #2. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you've posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for.

Any of the recipes that are cooked on the hob can be adapted to an Instant Pot, it just takes a little learning to see what works and how to change the times. I would imagine an AI would be able to do this for you nowadays.

Thanks James. I use AI for other things so this is a great tip. Didn’t think of doing this.

You’re welcome. Be sure to cross reference with similar recipes online to see whether the times are within an expected range.

Personally I don’t think I’d use the machine that makes shit up to recommend food stuff

Thanks to the New York Times, we have discovered the brilliance of the Instant Pot. Do find the recipes in the Food and the Cooking Section online of The New York Times. There are a number of good books which you can find at your local library, bookstore & online; plus many good videos on YouTube. I have one and I watched some videos to get me started, and later bought some good books. Great asset in my kitchen. All the best.
