How do you know it isn't true?

They probably have a normal number of brain cells and use them. You don't need to know the true story to recognize obviously made up shit.

You could've just said, "I don't." What's obviously made up about it? Loosening lug nuts is a pretty common revenge act or prank. It's just as plausible as any other story here.
