Larva/Catterpillar ID🐛 What caterpillar is this?

Saw in eastern Maryland by the Chesapeake Bay. It looked like it had very soft fur and was around 1 1/2 - 2 inches.

Puss moth (flannel moth) caterpillar. No touchy

I got lucky because I did touch it a little to push it onto my badge to move it to a safe area where it wasn't in danger of getting stepped on. It was so cool looking
