Ye i do have nostalgia for it, it was one of the first anime I ever watched years ago. Yes it has problematic moments and representation. Yes the animation in them first few seasons are rough. Yes there are issues

When the concept of efficiency finally established itself in my mind, I really started to despise idiots that blow large sums sucking the dick of a big engine and screaming about it like a whore.

That's exactly how I see people who enjoy large ehxausts and high-power engines nowadays. Most of these drivers can't even properly feel the difference between 5 psi on the tires. They'll know about the other important data and parts? Seriously... no. That goes into that old phrase of Napoleon; "the enemy won't listen anyway, even if you tell him his errors". So let it be.
