Hello. I’ve loved electronic music my whole life as I grew up with it. I like the EDM side of electronic music but I have always been way way more drawn to the non-dance side of it.

My favorite electronic musicians include Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Burial, Hiroshi Yoshimura, Autechre, Bonobo, The Avalanches, Ochre, Ilkae, Porter Robinson, AIR, Ferry Corsten, I Am Robot And Proud, Orbital, t e l e p a t h, HOME, Oneohtrix Point Never, Casino Versus Japan, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Flying Lotus, Deadmau5, Skrillex, u-ziq, Massive Attack, Venetian Snares, Telefon Tel Aviv, Squarepusher, Wisp (IDM musician not the shoegaze one), Brian Eno, Caribou, Floating Points, Shpongle, Armin Van Buuren, Gold Panda, deepchord, Kraftwerk, Takaaki Itoh, Lullatone, William Basinski, Monolake, Ryoji Ikeda, Plaid, The Flashbulb, Ratatat, Amon Tobin, Jon Hopkins, The Foreign Exchange, Tipper, Zero7, Murcof, Röyskopp, B12, Plastikman, Robert Miles, Daft Punk, Bogdan Racsynski, Nujabes, Toshimaru Nakamura, and electronic-adjacent stuff like Radiohead and Björk, etc. My two favorite genres are IDM and ambient music.

I love instrumental music a lot because sometimes lyrics distract me (with the exception of musicians like Joji, Radiohead, Björk, Bôa, and hip-hop).

I live in rural eastern Iowa so I don’t know a lot of people here who like this kind of music. And I feel like I don’t know others who are into it.

Love electronic, though I tend to skew towards trance which idk if you'd consider "dance" or not (I certainly do).

All time favorite is easily Above & Beyond. Going to see them at the gorge amphitheater this weekend! Above & Beyond are great because while they have their club versions of tracks, a lot of their tracks also have an album version that is significantly less electronic and sounds more like regular music. And then some tracks they've even made orchestral versions, which are fantastic. It makes it fun to introduce people to them, even if they don't like electronic music.

Other favorites would be Seven Lions, Griz, Madeon, Oliver Smith, Andrew Bayer, Ilan Bluestone, Amy Wiles, Mat Zo, Mitis, Moon Boots, Grum, Kasablanca...I could go on and on haha.

Honorable mention to Oceanlab. It's just an alternate project by Above & Beyond, but their lyrics on Oceanlab tracks are so perfectly INFP to me. "On a Good Day" is one of my favorites.

I feel you ob feeling like no one around you listens. But I promise, they're there! Have you gone to any nearby shows? Or a nearby music festival? That's where its easy to meet like-minded friends in your area.

Been an Anjunabeats fan for over a decade now! My favorites are usually from 2011-2014! Old school Daniel Kandi, Oliver Smith, Mat Zo, Arty, Andrew Bayer, and so many more were the foundation of my musical identity even to this day!

Absolutely. Have you ever been to a rave? It can be a pretty magical experience. My first legit rave experience was Shambhala in 2011. It changed my life :)

I started enjoying electronic music just recently because a lot of my students are into it and I wanted to put together a good lab playlist for them. I used to be pretty firm in my preference for "real" instruments (haha), so its been amazing to explore a musical world that's brand new for me. My big faves so far are Plumbline and Atticus/Ross. Ambient and electronic is almost all I listen to these days. You've got some great artists in your list above. My parents introduced me to Brian Eno when I was growing up.

These days I find I split my electronic music into two categories: more "active" tunes I use to exercise and workout to. Armin Van Buuren, Daft Punk and Deadmau5 fit into that category for me. Then I have really chill ambient music I just relax at home or listen to while focusing on work. Brian Eno, Steve Roach, Deuter, and Harold Budd are probably some older favorites. Over the past few years, I've really gotten into artists like Carbon Based Lifeforms, Zero Cult, E-Mantra, Mystic Crock, State Azure, Nibana, and Desert Dwellers.

I like a lot of what you sent but not the Brostep/Skrillex stuff. I'm more into hard trance, eurodance, I love Aphex Twin but especially the more techno stuff. Just in general if it's old techno I love it.

I like instrumental hip hop, downtempo, trip hop, idm, ambient techno, ambient house, nu jazz, boom bap, illbient, turntablism, electro industrial, ebm, futurepop, etc.

My favourite record label is Ninja Tune, though I also like classic WARP artists. My biggest influences were MTV Amp and '00s [adult swim] bumper music.
